Explanation of the different types of telephone numbers we have available

We have several different types of DIDs/telephone numbers that cater to the various ways of using them and all is based on Premium Plus/Business Class quality as we only work with businesses and know the importance of a good and reliable VoIP solution all too well.

  1. All DIDs come with full use of the Hosted IPPBX included so in effect our Hosted IPPBX solution is Free for you.
  2. Expanding the Inbound tracks of a DID is hard-wired to that telephone number specifically and can not be shared amongst DIDs, except for with the Elastic Pool Solution.
  3. All DIDs can use SIP Trunks to expand the Internal and Outbound call capacity.

Take note:
- Some countries may have posed restrictions on obtaining and/or using certain types of telephone number so please make sure you know about any possible requirements for the registration of the DID you need here.
- As the Laws in the various countries are getting stricter, it is now required to show a correct, valid Caller ID on all outbound calls to almost all countries.

Standard DIDs are generally used for normal SoHo / Business use and for both Inbound and Outbound calls.

  • Inbound traffic is free or with a small charge, depending on the number and options we have. If the Inbound calls are free, there is a Fair-Use-Policy for Inbound traffic related to both average use by our 'standard' users and in relation to Outbound traffic.
If the FUP is violated we will get in touch with our client and discuss the options, such as deciding if it was incidental, moving to Inbound Only and/or adding a small Inbound call charge.
  • Outbound traffic is charged as indicated on our website's Call Tariff page.
  • Average lead times (we will always attempt to complete this process a.s.a.p.) as indicated on the product order page.
If paperwork is required to adhere to that specific country's requirements, the activation will not be allowed until this is approved by the local authority.
This should usually not add more than a few hours to a day maximum from our pre-approval of the paperwork.

  • Standard Geographic numbers are often linked to a specific town, city, region, etc and, depending on the laws & regulations that govern it may or may not be used outside that region (usually not).
  • Standard National numbers are often referred to as 'nomadic' numbers that belong to that country but not to a specific region. This could also be the specific number ranges that some countries have set up for VoIP use, for example. These numbers may not always be reachable from outside its own country.

If the right option for Standard numbers is not available in the online ordering system, do get in touch as we have many more options for these, possibly including faster setup, etc. This does usually come at a (little) extra cost though.

Mobile DIDs, are mobile numbers but for use on our Hosted VoIP platform.
You will not receive a SIM but you can use this number on our Hosted IPPBX platform and therefore in any VoIP device as a normal DID.

  • Inbound traffic is free or with a small charge, depending on the number and options we have. If the Inbound calls are free, there is a Fair-Use-Policy for Inbound traffic related to both average use by our 'standard' users and in relation to Outbound traffic.
If the FUP is violated we will get in touch with our client and discuss the options, such as deciding if it was incidental, moving to Inbound Only or adding a small Inbound call charge.

TollFree or FreePhone DIDs are mostly used as a service to the respective clients as the costs for the call is usually paid for by the company that is being called.
Typically these numbers can only be called by users in that respective country and they are allowed for Inbound calls only.

  • Inbound traffic is charged as indicated in the created quote. We will do our best to keep this charge the same and as low as possible but, as indicated in the quote, this may change during the subscription period.
  • Outbound traffic, if allowed for the specific countries TollFree rules, is charged as indicated on our website's Call Tariff page.
  • Average lead times (we will always attempt to complete this process a.s.a.p.).
Allocation and Activation: This varies greatly for each country and you will be advised of the expected lead time in your specific quote for your specific solution/requirement.
  • Do note that some countries do not allow you to make outbound calls showing a TollFree Caller ID. In that case, we would recommend getting a Standard number from us too, so you can use that to show as the Caller ID.

UIFN DIDs are similar in use to TollFree but the important difference is that the subscriber number will be identical in all countries that participate.
For marketing and advertising purposes, such as displaying number to call on your webiste, this is the perfect solution as in almost all of the countries that participate in the UIFN system, you can display the very same number.

Allocation and Activation: The first step is setting up the UIFN account, which takes about 2 weeks.
Once that is done, the various UIFN numbers will be applied for and this will usually take between 2 to 6 weeks, depending on which countries you requested.
We recommend counting on 1 to 3 months as a minimum time frame before the whole solution will be implemented and live.

Inbound Only DIDs have been created for solutions that only need Inbound call handling and will have a high volume of Simultaneous traffic in doing so.

  • Inbound traffic has a small charge as indicated in the created quote. We will do our best to keep this charge the same and as low as possible but, as indicated in the quote, this may change during the subscription period.
  • Outbound traffic is not standard available but can usually be added easily and cheaply.

Elastic Pool Solutions. Our most flexible product range.
This service is particularly tailored for large-scale corporate solutions that span multiple countries and demand peak resilience for both inbound and outbound call traffic. It's an ideal choice for businesses engaged in intense marketing campaigns, which typically lead to a temporary surge in call volumes.

The key advantage of this option lies in its dynamic allocation of both inbound and outbound tracks. This means the system intelligently adjusts resources in real-time, based on the current volume of calls. Such flexibility ensures that during high-traffic periods, often triggered by successful marketing initiatives, the system remains robust and responsive, efficiently handling the increased load without compromising on call quality or reliability. This adaptability makes it a reliable solution for corporations seeking to maintain excellent communication standards during periods of heightened activity.

Shared Cost DIDs are for specific situations where bigger volumes of calls are expected and a presence in a larger number of countries will be required.
These products have been superseded by our Elastic Pool Solutions and therefore no longer available as Shared Cost numbers.

Take note There may be regulations and requirements to adhere to in order to be able to use certain DIDs / Telephone numbers in certain countries. Check our Knowledgebase for local DID requirements as it is your responsibility the be able to comply. The allocation of the DID will be completed at the start of the order but if you can't immediately provide the required documentation, this will prevent the activation of the DIDs in question until such time that you do supply those documents. This can even result in the allocated DID being terminated again, by the local operator. In such a case there may be extra cost involved in re-allocating another DID.
