Why is my free E-mail address not accepted for registration?

Recently we have had to decide not to accept E-mail addresses from the various Free E-mail services because of abuse and misuse.
This is all in an attempt to keep everything as secure as possible and as we work for businesses, we feel this should not bring up any extra hurdles.

Why have we come to this decision?

Well, although we have very good and stringent rules and checks in place to prevent abuse of the registration system there have been many attempts / fraudulent entries.
These 'clients' can't do anything bad but it does bring a lot of extra paperwork and security actions with it as we handle each incident as such and report it to the respective authorities.

As we saw that (almost) none of our true clients was using a Free E-mail provider address we felt that it may be time to tighten the registration process a little more by disallowing those E-mail addresses from being used for new client registrations.
If however, such an E-mail address is used whilst registering, the system will properly notify that such an E-mail address is not allowed and will give the option to change it for a non-free mail address and continue.
This will also substantially improve the chance that the E-mail verification message will be received and therefore the account can actually verify and activate itself.
