TelefonX Softphone

TelefonX Softphone Setup with Voyced (macOS)

TelefonX is a SIP softphone for Mac, developed by Enwikuna.

With TelefonX, you use your Voyced telephone number to make and receive calls directly from your Mac, without needing a separate desk telephone.

TelefonX supports multiple telephone accounts, call transfers, conferencing, contacts, call waiting and other business calling features.

This guide explains how to install TelefonX, connect your Voyced account, configure the main features and test your calls.

1. What you need

Before starting, prepare:

  • macOS 26 or later.

  • A working internet connection.

  • Your Voyced DID (telephone number or SIP username).

  • Your Voyced Service Password.

  • A microphone and speakers, preferably a headset.

TelefonX does not support Intel Macs or older macOS versions.

Your TelefonX subscription is separate from your Voyced telephone service.

2. Find your Voyced account details

Before connecting TelefonX, locate your Voyced SIP credentials.

  1. Log in to your Voyced Hosted IPPBX.

  2. Open Cloud PBX / IP Centrex > Phone Lines.

  3. Find the telephone number you want to use.

  4. Select the wrench icon beside the number.

  5. Copy the DID displayed for your telephone account.

  6. Open My Profile > Settings and find your Service Password.

Your DID serves as your SIP username.

Your Service Password is different from your Hosted IPPBX website login password.

Keep these details ready during setup.

3. Configure your Voyced SIP account

TelefonX uses SIP Lines to manage telephone accounts.

Step 1. Open the line settings

  1. Launch TelefonX.

  2. From the menu bar, select TelefonX > Settings.

  3. Open Lines.

  4. Click Add Line.

The SIP line configuration window opens.

Step 2. Enter your Voyced details

Use the following settings:

TelefonX field Voyced setting
Name Voyced
Domain / Server sip.voyced.eu
SIP Username Your Voyced DID
Password Your Voyced Service Password
Connection UDP
Line Enabled On
Hide My Caller ID Off

The Name field is a label shown inside TelefonX. You may choose another name, such as Office or Business Line.

Enter the server exactly as:

sip.voyced.eu

Do not add sip://, https:// or a path.

Your SIP username must match the DID displayed in your Voyced account.

Enter your Service Password exactly as provided.

Step 3. Select the connection type

Under Connection, choose UDP.

TelefonX also supports TCP and TLS, but UDP is the standard connection method recommended for Voyced.

Do not enable TLS or require encrypted media unless Voyced has supplied an appropriate configuration.

Step 4. Enable registration

Make sure Line Enabled is switched on.

Click Save.

TelefonX now attempts to register your Voyced account.

Step 5. Check your connection

Return to Settings > Lines.

TelefonX displays the connection status beside your account.

The status indicates whether the line is:

  • Connected.

  • Connecting.

  • Unavailable.

  • Disabled.

Once your Voyced line shows Connected, you are ready to make a test call.

TelefonX also displays connection information through its menu bar icon.

4. Advanced SIP connection settings

Most customers do not need to change the advanced SIP settings.

If your account fails to register, first check the username, password, server and transport.

Open the advanced settings

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select Data & Diagnostics.

  3. Open Connection Help.

  4. Select the relevant Voyced line.

  5. Click Technical Options.

The technical settings include:

Setting Voyced configuration
Authentication Name Leave empty, or use your Voyced DID
Registrar Leave empty
Outbound-Proxy Leave empty
Registration interval Leave at default
Require SRTP Disabled
G.711 Only Disabled initially
Enable ICE Leave at default initially

Authentication Name

TelefonX uses the SIP Username for authentication when Authentication Name is empty.

For standard Voyced accounts, this is suitable.

If the application requires a separate authentication name, use your Voyced DID.

Registrar

Leave Registrar empty.

TelefonX uses the Domain / Server value for SIP registration.

Outbound proxy

Leave Outbound-Proxy empty.

The standard Voyced connection does not require a separate outbound proxy.

Audio encryption

Require SRTP is available for suitably configured TLS connections.

Leave this disabled for the normal Voyced UDP connection.

G.711 compatibility mode

TelefonX includes a G.711 Only setting.

This restricts the application to standard G.711 telephone audio.

Leave the default unchanged when your calls work correctly.

If you experience codec compatibility problems, enable G.711 Only and repeat your tests.

5. Voyced SIP server settings

Voyced provides several SIP connection methods.

Connection method Server Port
Preferred DNS NAPTR sip.voyced.eu 0
Alternative DNS SRV sip.voyced.eu 5060
Traditional SIP sip.voyced.eu 5060
Secondary server sipnl.voyced.eu 5060

TelefonX does not offer a separate NAPTR selection in its normal account configuration.

For the standard setup, use:

  • Domain / Server: sip.voyced.eu

  • Connection: UDP

  • SIP port: 5060

If you need to specify the port explicitly, the Domain / Server field accepts a hostname followed by a port:

sip.voyced.eu:5060

The port value of 0 applies to Voyced's preferred DNS NAPTR configuration, not the standard UDP port.

Secondary server

Voyced also provides:

sipnl.voyced.eu

This server is available for alternative connection arrangements.

Keep the primary server configured for everyday use unless Voyced Support advises otherwise.

6. Configure your microphone and speakers

TelefonX lets you select separate devices for microphone input, telephone audio and incoming call ringing.

This is useful when you want calls through a headset but incoming calls to ring through your Mac's speakers.

Step 1. Open audio settings

  1. Open TelefonX.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Open Audio.

Step 2. Select your devices

Setting Purpose
Microphone Sends your voice
Playback Plays the other person's voice
Ringtone Output Plays incoming call alerts

Choose the device you want for each function.

You may select System Default to use the devices selected in macOS.

Step 3. Test your ringtone

  1. Select your preferred ringtone output device.

  2. Click Test Ringtone Output.

  3. Confirm you hear the ringtone.

  4. Adjust the volume if necessary.

Step 4. Check microphone permission

If the other person cannot hear you:

  1. Open macOS System Settings.

  2. Select Privacy & Security.

  3. Open Microphone.

  4. Allow TelefonX to use your microphone.

Changing audio devices during a call

TelefonX supports changing the microphone and playback device while a call is active.

  1. Open Settings > Audio.

  2. Select the new devices.

  3. Click Apply Selection to Call.

If a headset disconnects during a call, TelefonX may display Reconnect Audio.

Reconnect the device and use this option to restore audio.

7. Making outgoing calls

Once your Voyced SIP line shows Connected, you are ready to make calls.

Make a call

  1. Open TelefonX.

  2. Select the dialler.

  3. Enter the telephone number.

  4. Confirm your Voyced line is selected.

  5. Click Place Call.

Alternatively, press:

Command + Return

The call starts using your selected Voyced account.

End a call

Click Hang Up in the active call window.

Redial

TelefonX includes a Redial function.

When the dialler is empty, selecting Redial once enters your most recently dialled number.

Selecting Redial again starts the call.

Calling from Contacts

TelefonX supports calling from its own contact list and your existing macOS Contacts.

Open the contact, select the telephone number and choose the call action.

8. Making international calls

Voyced uses the same international dialling format across all connected devices.

Always dial:

00 + Country Code + Telephone Number

For example, to call Voyced in the United Kingdom:

00442035000202

This format applies regardless of the country from which you call.

Contacts stored with a plus sign

Some contacts contain international numbers beginning with +.

For example:

+442035000202

For Voyced, dial:

00442035000202

TelefonX's current outgoing dialling rules select which SIP line handles particular number prefixes.

These rules do not automatically replace + with 00.

For the standard setup, enter international telephone numbers using the 00 prefix.

Using multiple countries

If you have Voyced numbers in several countries, the same international dialling format applies.

You do not need a different international access prefix for each Voyced line.

9. Receiving incoming calls

When someone calls your Voyced number, TelefonX displays an incoming call.

Answer a call

  1. Wait for the incoming call window.

  2. Click Answer.

  3. Speak using your selected microphone and speakers.

Reject a call

Click Decline.

Receive calls while using other applications

TelefonX supports macOS notifications.

If TelefonX is running but another application is in the foreground, incoming calls may appear as local notifications.

To check notification permissions:

  1. Open macOS System Settings.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Find TelefonX.

  4. Enable Allow Notifications.

  5. Select the alert and sound options you prefer.

Keep TelefonX available

Closing the main TelefonX window does not quit the application.

TelefonX remains active in the macOS menu bar.

You may continue working in other applications while TelefonX remains registered.

If you quit TelefonX completely, your SIP line disconnects and the application stops receiving incoming calls.

10. Configure startup and availability

For regular business use, TelefonX should be available when you start your Mac.

Start TelefonX automatically

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Enable Open TelefonX at Login.

  4. Save.

macOS may also ask you to approve TelefonX under:

System Settings > General > Login Items

Do Not Disturb

TelefonX includes a Do Not Disturb function.

Available durations include:

  • 30 minutes.

  • 1 hour.

  • 2 hours.

  • Until switched off.

When Do Not Disturb is enabled, incoming calls are handled according to the application's configured behaviour.

macOS Focus integration

TelefonX optionally synchronises its Do Not Disturb status with macOS Focus.

To enable this:

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Enable Synchronise with macOS Focus.

  4. Allow the requested macOS permission.

When Focus synchronisation is active, TelefonX follows the Mac's Focus status.

If incoming calls unexpectedly stop ringing, check both TelefonX Do Not Disturb and macOS Focus.

11. Voicemail

Your Voyced voicemail access number is:

1233

Listen to voicemail

  1. Open TelefonX.

  2. Select your Voyced line.

  3. Enter 1233 in the dialler.

  4. Click Place Call.

  5. Follow the spoken instructions.

This connects you to the voicemail service associated with your Voyced telephone account.

Use the keypad during voicemail

During an active call:

  1. Open the in-call Keypad.

  2. Press the number requested by the voicemail system.

  3. Use * or # when required.

TelefonX supports DTMF keypad tones during connected calls.

You may also use the number keys on your Mac while the keypad is active.

Voicemail notifications

TelefonX's standard documentation does not list a dedicated voicemail number or Message Waiting Indicator setting.

You do not need these features to access your Voyced voicemail.

Dial 1233 directly whenever you want to listen to messages.

12. Caller ID settings

Caller ID is the telephone number displayed to the person receiving your call.

By default, Voyced displays the DID assigned to your SIP account.

TelefonX includes an option to request Caller ID suppression.

This is different from changing the telephone number displayed to the recipient.

Hide your Caller ID

TelefonX provides two options:

  • Hide My Caller ID in the SIP line settings requests permanent suppression for that line.

  • The shield button in the dialler requests suppression for the next outgoing call only.

Successful suppression depends on support from Voyced and the destination network.

For normal business calls, leave Hide My Caller ID disabled.

Display another telephone number

If you want outgoing calls to show your company's main number instead of the DID assigned to your SIP line:

  1. Log in to your Voyced client area.

  2. Open a sales support ticket.

  3. Use the subject: Outbound Caller ID adjustment.

  4. Provide the Voyced DID you are calling from.

  5. Provide the number you want displayed.

Voyced will review your request.

When the requested number belongs to another provider, proof of ownership and additional verification are required.

Voyced Internal DIDs and extension numbers must not be used as public outbound Caller ID numbers.

13. Configure multiple Voyced accounts

TelefonX Pro supports multiple simultaneously registered SIP lines.

For example, you might configure:

  • Your main business number.

  • Your direct office number.

  • Another number for a different country.

Add another Voyced line

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select Lines.

  3. Click Add Line.

  4. Enter a descriptive name.

  5. Enter sip.voyced.eu as the server.

  6. Enter the additional Voyced DID.

  7. Enter its Service Password.

  8. Select UDP.

  9. Enable the line.

  10. Save.

Repeat for further Voyced accounts.

Free versus Pro

In the Free edition, only the first line in your account list is actively registered.

You may save additional line configurations, but these do not become active simultaneously.

To use another saved line without Pro, move the required line into the first position.

TelefonX Pro keeps multiple enabled lines registered at the same time.

Choose the outgoing line

Before making a call:

  1. Open the dialler.

  2. Select the Voyced line you want to use.

  3. Enter the destination.

  4. Place the call.

You may also choose a default line under the line settings.

Each Voyced account uses its own authorised Caller ID unless another arrangement has been approved.

14. Automatic outgoing line selection (Pro)

TelefonX Pro includes outgoing dialling rules.

These rules select a SIP line according to the beginning of the dialled telephone number.

For example, you might want calls to Germany to use one Voyced line and calls to the United Kingdom to use another.

Add a dialling rule

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select Rules.

  3. Find Outgoing Dialling Rules.

  4. Enter a prefix under Number Starts With.

  5. Select the required Voyced line under Use Line.

  6. Click Add Rule.

Example

Number starts with Use Voyced line
0049 German business line
0044 UK business line
0031 Netherlands business line

When you dial a matching number, TelefonX selects the configured line.

If several rules match, the longest matching prefix takes priority.

These rules select the outgoing line. They do not rewrite telephone numbers.

All international numbers must still follow Voyced's 00 format.

15. Call waiting, hold and transfers

TelefonX includes several call management functions in both the Free and Pro editions.

Call waiting

When Call Waiting is enabled, you may receive another incoming call while already speaking.

To review this setting:

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Find Call Waiting.

  4. Enable the option.

  5. Save.

If a second call arrives, TelefonX displays the new call.

The number of simultaneous external calls depends on the call capacity assigned to your Voyced service.

Put a call on hold

During a call, click Hold.

Alternatively, press:

H

To resume the conversation, click Resume or press H again.

Mute your microphone

During an active call, click Mute.

Alternatively, press:

M

Press again to unmute.

Transfer a call

TelefonX supports consultation-based SIP transfers.

  1. During an active call, click Consultation.

  2. Choose Dial or Contacts.

  3. Enter or select the person who should receive the call.

  4. Start the second call.

TelefonX places the original caller on hold.

  1. Speak to the receiving person.

  2. Select Transfer.

  3. Confirm the transfer.

The application transfers the original caller to the second party.

Successful transfers depend on the connected SIP systems and your Voyced configuration.

Three-way conference

TelefonX also supports a local three-way conference.

  1. Start your first call.

  2. Select Consultation.

  3. Call the second participant.

  4. Once the second call connects, select Conference.

  5. TelefonX joins the three participants.

The conference takes place through your Mac.

The available external call capacity depends on your Voyced service.

16. Contacts, favourites and call history

TelefonX includes a local contact manager.

Add a contact

  1. Open TelefonX.

  2. Select Contacts.

  3. Add a new contact.

  4. Enter the person's name.

  5. Enter their telephone number.

  6. Save.

You may store several telephone numbers for the same person.

For international contacts, use Voyced's 00 format.

Use macOS Contacts

TelefonX supports integration with your existing macOS Contacts.

  1. Open TelefonX.

  2. Select Contacts.

  3. Allow access to Contacts if requested.

  4. View your available contacts.

Your macOS Contacts appear as a read-only source.

To edit a contact directly in TelefonX, copy the entry into TelefonX's local contact list.

Favourites

Mark frequently called contacts as favourites.

These appear in the Favourites section for quicker access.

Call history

Open Recents to review:

  • Incoming calls.

  • Outgoing calls.

  • Missed calls.

  • Declined calls.

  • Blocked calls.

You may search and filter previous calls or select an entry to call again.

Import and export contacts

TelefonX Pro supports CSV contact import and export.

This is useful when moving contacts from another softphone or business application.

17. Call blocking

TelefonX supports blocking unwanted incoming calls.

Block a telephone number

  1. Open TelefonX > Settings.

  2. Select Rules.

  3. Find New Block.

  4. Enter the telephone number or SIP address.

  5. Click Block.

Calls from this number are rejected across your configured lines.

Block anonymous calls

In the same Rules section, enable Reject Anonymous Calls.

This rejects incoming calls without a displayed caller identifier.

Use this option only if you do not need to receive legitimate calls from withheld numbers.

Remove a block

Open Settings > Rules.

Find the blocked number and remove the restriction.

You may also block or unblock numbers using the context menu of a contact or recent call.

18. Other TelefonX features

Callback reminders (Pro)

TelefonX Pro includes reminders for returning telephone calls.

  1. Open Call Reminders.

  2. Select Schedule Callback.

  3. Enter a name and telephone number.

  4. Choose the date and time.

  5. Add an optional note.

  6. Select your preferred Voyced line if needed.

  7. Save.

TelefonX reminds you when the callback becomes due.

The call starts only when you choose to place it.

Custom ringtones (Pro)

TelefonX supports different ringtones for individual SIP lines.

Built-in ringtones are available in the Free edition.

Pro lets you select custom audio files.

Hold music (Pro)

TelefonX Pro supports custom hold music.

You may select a compatible audio file under Settings > Audio.

The application plays the selected audio while a call is on hold, subject to the behaviour of the connected SIP service.

macOS telephone links

TelefonX supports links beginning with:

  • tel:

  • sip:

  • sips:

This allows compatible websites and applications to pass telephone numbers to TelefonX.

Check that international numbers follow Voyced's required 00 format.

Automatic reconnection

TelefonX attempts to restore SIP registration after changes to your network, VPN or when your Mac wakes from sleep.

If automatic reconnection fails, you may reconnect manually using Phone > Reconnect Lines.

19. Troubleshooting

TelefonX does not register

Check:

Setting Required value
Domain / Server sip.voyced.eu
SIP Username Your Voyced DID
Password Your Service Password
Connection UDP
SIP port 5060
Line Enabled On

Do not enter sip:// or https:// before the SIP hostname.

After checking the settings, select Reconnect.

Authentication failed

Check your Voyced DID and Service Password.

Do not use your Hosted IPPBX website login password.

If Authentication Name is empty, TelefonX uses your SIP Username.

For standard Voyced accounts, these values should match.

The line remains offline

  1. Check your internet connection.

  2. Open Settings > Lines.

  3. Select your Voyced line.

  4. Click Reconnect.

If registration still fails:

  1. Open Settings > Data & Diagnostics.

  2. Select Rebuild SIP Connections.

  3. Allow TelefonX to reconnect.

Calls fail immediately

Confirm the Voyced line shows Connected.

Check the destination telephone number.

For international calls, use 00.

Make sure sufficient call credit is available and the destination is permitted.

Incoming calls do not ring

Check that:

  • TelefonX is running.

  • Your Voyced line is connected.

  • Do Not Disturb is disabled.

  • macOS Focus is not blocking calls.

  • Call notifications are enabled.

  • Your ringtone output device is working.

If the same DID is registered on several devices, test with one device first.

No audio or one-way audio

  1. Open Settings > Audio.

  2. Check your microphone.

  3. Check your playback device.

  4. Refresh the device list.

  5. Confirm microphone permission in macOS.

If the problem continues, test using a different internet connection.

No audio after connecting a headset

  1. Reconnect your headset.

  2. Open Settings > Audio.

  3. Select the correct device.

  4. Click Apply Selection to Call if a call is active.

If TelefonX displays Reconnect Audio, use this option.

Codec problems

Open:

Settings > Data & Diagnostics > Connection Help > Technical Options

Select your Voyced line.

Enable G.711 Only and repeat the test.

This limits the application to standard G.711 telephone audio for compatibility testing.

Poor call quality

Check your network stability.

Use a wired connection or a reliable Wi-Fi network.

Avoid overloaded connections.

During an active call, open the Audio Quality information to review packet loss, jitter and the selected codec.

Voicemail does not work

Confirm your account is registered.

Dial 1233 directly.

If voicemail answers but does not respond to keypad selections, open the in-call keypad and try again.

Wrong outbound Caller ID

Check the selected Voyced line.

Make sure Hide My Caller ID is disabled if you want your number displayed.

Remember that TelefonX cannot override an unauthorised Caller ID through its account settings.

Contact Voyced Support if you need a different number displayed.

Calls stop after your Mac wakes from sleep

TelefonX should attempt reconnection automatically.

If your line remains offline, select:

Phone > Reconnect Lines

If needed, use Rebuild SIP Connections under Data & Diagnostics.

20. Diagnostic information

TelefonX includes tools for checking SIP connection and call quality problems.

Review call quality

During an active call, open:

Active Calls > Audio Quality

TelefonX displays information including:

  • Selected codec.

  • Audio sample rate.

  • RTP packets received.

  • Packet loss.

  • Jitter.

  • Round-trip time.

  • Media encryption status.

These details help identify audio or network problems.

Export diagnostics

If Voyced Support requests technical information:

  1. Open TelefonX.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Open Data & Diagnostics.

  4. Click Export Anonymised Diagnostics.

  5. Save the exported file.

  6. Provide the requested information to Voyced Support.

The anonymised report excludes SIP passwords, telephone numbers, contact names and call content.

Also provide the date, time and destination of an affected call where relevant.

21. Backing up your configuration

TelefonX includes local backup and restore functions.

Export a backup

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Data & Diagnostics.

  3. Click Export Backup.

  4. Choose a location to save the file.

The backup includes supported local settings, contacts, call history, dialling rules and line information.

SIP passwords are not included because TelefonX stores them separately in macOS Keychain.

Restore a backup

  1. Open Settings > Data & Diagnostics.

  2. Select Restore Backup.

  3. Choose your backup file.

  4. Confirm the restoration.

  5. Re-enter the Service Password for any restored Voyced SIP accounts.

  6. Check registration.

Restoring replaces the current local TelefonX data.

The application does not automatically synchronise this information through a cloud service.

22. Test your Voyced connection

Once TelefonX displays Connected, complete the following tests.

Outgoing calls

  1. Select your Voyced SIP line.

  2. Call another telephone number.

  3. Confirm the call connects.

  4. Check audio in both directions.

  5. Verify the Caller ID received by the other person.

Incoming calls

  1. Call your Voyced number from another telephone.

  2. Confirm TelefonX rings.

  3. Answer the call.

  4. Check audio in both directions.

International calls

Dial an international telephone number using the 00 prefix.

For example:

00442035000202

Voicemail

Dial 1233.

Confirm you reach your Voyced voicemail service.

Background operation

Leave TelefonX running and switch to another application.

Call your Voyced number again.

Confirm TelefonX receives the incoming call.

Multiple lines

If you use TelefonX Pro with several Voyced accounts, test each registered line separately.

Call transfers

If you use call transfers, test the consultation and transfer functions using a suitable destination.

23. Final setup checklist

Before using TelefonX for everyday business calls, confirm:

  • Your Voyced SIP line shows Connected.

  • Outgoing calls work.

  • Incoming calls ring.

  • Audio works in both directions.

  • Your outbound Caller ID is correct.

  • Voicemail works through 1233.

  • International numbers use 00.

  • Your microphone and speakers are configured.

  • TelefonX receives calls while running in the background.

  • Do Not Disturb and Focus behave as expected.

  • Additional Voyced lines work if you use Pro.

  • Call transfers and other required features have been tested.

Your TelefonX softphone is ready for everyday use once these checks succeed.
