Your Voyced account is ready once registration succeeds.

6. SIP server and DNS settings

Voyced supports several connection methods.

The recommended server is:

sip.voyced.eu

Available connection methods

Method SIP server Port
Preferred DNS NAPTR sip.voyced.eu 0
Alternative DNS SRV sip.voyced.eu 5060
Traditional SIP sip.voyced.eu 5060
Secondary server sipnl.voyced.eu 5060

DNS discovery allows compatible devices to obtain SIP server information automatically.

The port value of 0 applies to Voyced's NAPTR configuration. It is not the normal UDP SIP port.

Recommended SessionTalk setup

For standard manual configuration, use:

  • Domain: sip.voyced.eu

  • Transport: UDP

  • Port: 5060

Do not enter an additional proxy or STUN server unless Voyced Support provides different instructions.

If you experience problems with the primary server, Voyced also provides sipnl.voyced.eu as an alternative server.

Use the primary server for normal operation.

7. Install SessionTalk on Android

SessionTalk provides separate free and paid Android applications.

The paid version includes additional business features, including incoming-call push notifications.

Step 1. Install

  2. Search for SessionTalk SIP Softphone.

  3. Install the application.

  4. Open SessionTalk.

The free iOS application supports basic SIP calling, with optional purchases for additional features.

  3. Open Accounts.

  4. Select +.

  5. Choose SIP.

Step 3. Enter your Voyced credentials

Use:

  • Account Name: Voyced

Step 4. Set the SIP transport

  1. Open Advanced SIP settings.

Leave optional SIP proxy settings empty.

Step 5. Enable and test

  1. Switch Enabled to On.

  2. Save the account.

  3. Confirm the status displays Registered.

  4. Open Phone.

  5. Make a test call.

For incoming calls while the application is closed or in the background, review Section 9.

9. Receiving calls on mobile devices

Modern mobile operating systems limit background application activity to conserve battery power.

This affects SIP applications because incoming calls normally require an active SIP registration.

SessionTalk supports push notifications to help receive calls when the application is in the background.

SessionTalk Push Service

With push enabled, SessionTalk's push server maintains the SIP registration according to the selected registration mode.

When someone calls your Voyced number, the service sends a push notification to your device and helps connect the incoming call.

Your mobile application requires the appropriate paid feature for this function.

Configure push notifications

On Android or iOS:

  1. Open SessionTalk.

  2. Select Menu > Settings > Accounts.

  3. Choose your Voyced account.

  4. Make sure no call is active.

  5. Temporarily disable the account.

  6. Open Advanced SIP settings.

  7. Expand Registration.

  8. Find Incoming Calls and the available push registration options.

  9. Enable the appropriate Push option.

  10. Save your changes.

  11. Re-enable the account.

  12. Confirm the account registers.

Different push registration modes are available because SIP providers handle registrations differently.

For a standard Voyced account, start with the application's supported default and test incoming calls.

If calls fail after enabling push, contact Voyced Support with the test results before changing advanced registration modes.

Android permissions

Check the following:

  • Notifications are enabled.

  • Microphone access is allowed.

  • Mobile data and Wi-Fi access are enabled.

  • Background activity is permitted where required.

  • Battery restrictions do not prevent normal application operation.

iPhone and iPad permissions

  1. Open your device's Settings.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Open SessionTalk.

  4. Enable Allow Notifications.

  5. Enable the alert and sound options you prefer.

Test incoming calls

Carry out these tests:

  1. Call your Voyced number while SessionTalk is open.

  2. Repeat with SessionTalk in the background.

  3. Lock the device and call again.

  4. Test using Wi-Fi.

  5. Test using mobile data.

Confirm that the application rings and that audio works in both directions.

Push notification availability alone does not guarantee every incoming call. Registration, connectivity and your Voyced configuration must also be correct.

10. Configure voicemail

Voyced voicemail is accessed by dialling:

1233

SessionTalk includes a voicemail configuration option.

Desktop voicemail setup

  1. Open Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select your Voyced account.

  3. Temporarily disable the account while no call is active.

  4. Open Advanced SIP settings.

  5. Expand Voicemail.

  6. Enter 1233 as the Voicemail Number.

  7. Enable Subscribe to voicemail notifications if supported by your account.

  8. Save the advanced settings.

  9. Re-enable your account.

  10. Save and check registration.

Mobile voicemail setup

  1. Open Menu > Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select your Voyced account.

  3. Disable the account temporarily.

  4. Open Advanced SIP settings > Voicemail.

  5. Enter 1233.

  6. Save the settings.

  7. Enable the account again.

  8. Confirm Registered.

Listen to voicemail

  1. Open SessionTalk.

  2. Select the voicemail icon, if displayed.

  3. Choose Call voicemail.

Alternatively, dial 1233 directly.

Follow the recorded instructions.

Voicemail notifications

SessionTalk supports Message Waiting Indicator notifications.

The application may show how many new or saved messages are waiting when the connected SIP service supplies the required information.

You do not need this notification feature to access your voicemail.

Dial 1233 whenever you want to check your messages.

11. Making international calls

Voyced uses one international dialling format across all connected devices.

Always dial:

00 + Country Code + Telephone Number

For example, to call Voyced in the United Kingdom:

00442035000202

The same format applies whether you are using SessionTalk from a Mac, Windows computer, Android device, iPhone or iPad.

Contacts with a leading plus sign

Many smartphones store international numbers beginning with +.

For example:

+442035000202

Voyced expects the outgoing number in this format:

00442035000202

SessionTalk includes dialling rules in supported versions.

These rules allow you to add or remove number prefixes and change selected telephone number formats.

Configure dialling rules on mobile

  1. Open Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select your Voyced account.

  3. Find Dialling Rules.

  4. Open Dial Plan.

  5. Select + to add a new rule.

  6. Give the rule a descriptive name.

  7. Configure the number matching and prefix changes as required.

  8. Save.

If you use number rewriting, set the rule to replace a leading + with 00, without modifying numbers already beginning with 00.

Test the resulting dialled number before relying on the rule.

For the simplest setup, save international contacts directly using the 00 format.

12. Audio settings and codecs

SessionTalk supports several audio codecs.

The available options include:

Codec Use
PCMU (G.711 u-law) Standard telephone audio
PCMA (G.711 A-law) Standard telephone audio
G.722 HD audio where supported
Opus Higher-quality audio on compatible connections
G.729 Optional compressed audio
iLBC Optional
AMR / AMR-WB Optional mobile codecs

For normal Voyced calling, PCMU and PCMA provide broad compatibility.

Other codecs depend on the complete calling route and application features.

Configure codecs on mobile

  1. Open Menu > Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select your Voyced account.

  3. Temporarily disable the account.

  4. Open Advanced SIP settings.

  5. Expand Audio codecs.

  6. Choose Wi-Fi Audio Codecs.

  7. Enable PCMU and PCMA.

  8. Arrange the codecs in your preferred order.

  9. Repeat for Mobile Data Audio Codecs.

  10. Save and re-enable the account.

You may configure different codec priorities for Wi-Fi and mobile data.

For the initial setup, keep the defaults if your calls work correctly.

Configure desktop audio

  1. Open SessionTalk Settings.

  2. Find the audio or sound settings.

  3. Select your microphone.

  4. Select your speaker or headset.

  5. Choose the ringtone device where available.

  6. Save and make a test call.

DTMF telephone keypad tones

DTMF is used when pressing numbers during a call, such as when navigating voicemail or automated telephone menus.

SessionTalk supports common DTMF methods, including RFC 4733 and SIP INFO.

Keep the application default initially.

If a telephone menu fails to recognise your key presses, review the DTMF setting or contact Voyced Support.

13. Caller ID settings

Caller ID is the telephone number displayed to people you call.

By default, Voyced sends the telephone number assigned to your SIP account.

SessionTalk offers a Display Name field and incoming Caller ID handling options.

Changing your display name does not automatically change your authorised outbound telephone number.

Display another telephone number

For example, you might want to display your company's main number when making calls from a different Voyced line.

Voyced supports authorised Caller ID changes.

To request an adjustment:

  1. Log in to your Voyced client area.

  2. Open a sales support ticket.

  3. Use the subject: Outbound Caller ID adjustment.

  4. List the Voyced DID you are calling from.

  5. Provide the telephone number you want displayed.

For numbers outside your Voyced account, additional verification and proof of ownership are required.

Voyced Internal DIDs must not be used as public outbound Caller ID numbers.

14. Using multiple Voyced accounts

SessionTalk supports multiple SIP accounts in editions with this feature enabled.

For example, you might use:

  • Your main business telephone number.

  • Your direct office number.

  • A second business number in another country.

Add another account

  1. Open Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select +.

  3. Choose SIP.

  4. Enter a name for the new account.

  5. Enter the second Voyced DID.

  6. Enter its Service Password.

  7. Set Domain to sip.voyced.eu.

  8. Choose UDP.

  9. Enable and save the account.

Repeat for additional accounts.

Select the outgoing account

On desktop:

  1. Open Settings > Accounts.

  2. Find Dial-out account.

  3. Select the Voyced number you want to use.

  4. Return to Phone.

On mobile, select your outgoing account from the available account options.

SessionTalk supports independent registration of multiple enabled SIP accounts in current supported editions.

The correct Caller ID follows the selected account and its Voyced configuration.

15. Additional calling features

SessionTalk offers several useful business calling functions.

Availability depends on your software edition and Voyced service configuration.

Call hold

During a call:

  1. Select Hold.

  2. The other party is placed on hold.

  3. Select Resume to continue.

Blind call transfer

A blind transfer sends a caller directly to another telephone number.

  1. During an active call, select Transfer.

  2. Choose the direct or blind transfer option.

  3. Enter the destination number.

  4. Confirm the transfer.

Attended call transfer

An attended transfer lets you speak to the receiving person before transferring the caller.

  1. Place the original call on hold.

  2. Start another call to the destination.

  3. Speak to the receiving person.

  4. Choose the attended transfer option.

  5. Complete the transfer.

Conference calling

Supported SessionTalk editions allow several active calls to be combined.

  1. Start a call.

  2. Select Add Call.

  3. Call another participant.

  4. Use the conference or merge control.

  5. Repeat for additional participants where supported.

The number of simultaneous external calls depends on the call capacity assigned to your Voyced service.

Call recording

Supported editions include local call recording.

During an active call, use the available recording control.

Recorded conversations are stored according to the application's configuration.

Follow applicable consent and privacy requirements when recording calls.

Contacts and call history

SessionTalk supports local contacts, recent calls and favourites.

You may select an existing contact to place a call without entering the complete number manually.

For international contacts, use Voyced's 00 format or a correctly configured dialling rule.

Other SessionTalk features

Some editions also support messaging, presence, video calling and integration with other communication services.

These features require support from the relevant provider and application edition.

A standard Voyced SIP account provides telephone calling and compatible SIP voice features.

16. Troubleshooting

SessionTalk does not register

Check:

Setting Required value
SIP Username Your Voyced DID
SIP Password Your Service Password
Domain sip.voyced.eu
Transport UDP
Port 5060
Account Enabled Yes
SIP Proxy Empty

If you need to edit the account:

  1. Open Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select your Voyced account.

  3. Temporarily disable the account.

  4. Make the necessary changes.

  5. Save.

  6. Re-enable the account.

  7. Confirm it shows Registered.

Authentication failed

Check your DID and Service Password.

Do not use your Voyced website login password.

Re-enter the correct credentials and reconnect.

Calls fail immediately

Confirm the account is registered.

Check the destination number.

International calls must start with 00.

Confirm you have sufficient call credit and that the destination is permitted.

Incoming calls do not ring

Check that the account is registered and incoming calls are enabled.

On mobile, review the Push settings and notification permissions.

Test first while SessionTalk is open.

Then test in the background and with the screen locked.

Calls only ring while the mobile app is open

Check whether your SessionTalk edition includes push notifications.

If supported, enable push registration and check the device notification settings.

Test the registration mode with your Voyced account.

Contact Voyced Support if the problem continues.

No audio or one-way audio

Check your microphone and speakers.

Confirm the application has microphone permission.

Make sure PCMU and PCMA are enabled.

Try another internet connection.

Poor audio quality

Check your internet connection.

Try stronger Wi-Fi or a wired connection on desktop.

Avoid busy or unstable networks.

If necessary, test a different audio codec configuration.

Telephone menus do not respond

Open the keypad during the call.

Check that SessionTalk sends DTMF tones.

If a particular automated system fails, contact Voyced Support.

Voicemail does not work

Confirm the voicemail number is 1233.

Dial it directly to test.

If the voicemail button is unavailable, use the normal dialler.

Wrong Caller ID

Confirm which Voyced account is selected.

Changing your display name does not override the authorised outbound number.

Contact Voyced Support to request a Caller ID adjustment.

Multiple accounts interfere with each other

Check that every account has its own correct credentials.

Confirm the account selected for outgoing calls is the intended one.

If the same Voyced DID is registered on several devices, test one device at a time to help identify registration or routing conflicts.

Collect connection logs

SessionTalk includes SIP diagnostic logging in supported editions.

If Voyced Support requests a log:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Find the logging or diagnostic options.

  3. Enable SIP logging if available.

  4. Reproduce the problem.

  5. Review the recorded SIP messages.

  6. Provide the relevant information to Voyced Support.

Do not share your Service Password.

17. Test your Voyced connection

Once SessionTalk displays Registered, complete these tests.

Outgoing calls

  1. Call another telephone number.

  2. Confirm the call connects.

  3. Check audio in both directions.

  4. Verify the Caller ID received by the other person.

Incoming calls

  1. Call your Voyced number from another telephone.

  2. Confirm SessionTalk rings.

  3. Answer the call.

  4. Check audio in both directions.

International calls

Dial an international number using 00.

Voicemail

Dial 1233 and confirm your voicemail service answers.

Mobile background operation

  1. Test an incoming call while SessionTalk is open.

  2. Move SessionTalk to the background.

  3. Call the number again.

  4. Lock the device.

  5. Repeat the incoming call test.

  6. Test using mobile data as well as Wi-Fi.

Multiple accounts

If you configured several Voyced numbers, test incoming and outgoing calls on each account.

18. Final setup checklist

Before using SessionTalk for everyday calls, confirm:

  • Your Voyced SIP account shows Registered.

  • Outgoing calls work.

  • Incoming calls ring.

  • Audio works in both directions.

  • Your Caller ID is correct.

  • Voicemail works through 1233.

  • International numbers use the 00 prefix.

  • Your microphone and speakers are configured.
