-
A Mac, Linux or Windows computer.
-
A stable internet connection.
-
Your Voyced DID (telephone number or SIP username).
-
Your Voyced Service Password.
-
A microphone and speakers, preferably a headset.

Blink for Windows: 6.0.3
Blink Pro for macOS is a commercial application available from the Mac App Store. The Linux version is available through the developer's software repositories.
Features and menu names vary slightly between versions.
This guide concentrates on macOS and Linux, with the same basic SIP settings applying to Windows.
2. Find your Voyced account details
You need your Voyced telephone account credentials before configuring Blink.
-
Log in to your Voyced Hosted IPPBX.
-
Open Cloud PBX / IP Centrex > Phone Lines.
-
Find the telephone number you want to use.
-
Select the wrench icon beside the number.
-
Copy the DID displayed for your account.
-
Open My Profile > Settings to locate your Service Password.
Your DID is your SIP username.
Your Service Password is different from your Hosted IPPBX web login password.
Keep both details ready.
3. Install Blink on macOS
Step 1. Download
-
Choose the macOS edition you want to install.
-
Download the application using the developer's available download option or the Mac App Store.
-
Complete the installation.
-
Open Blink.
If macOS asks for microphone access, allow the application to use your microphone.
Step 2. Open the account setup
When Blink starts for the first time, the SIP account setup window normally appears.
Choose:
Add an Existing SIP Account
Do not choose Create a Free SIP Account. That option creates an account with Blink's own SIP2SIP service rather than connecting your Voyced telephone number.
Continue to Section 5 for the Voyced connection settings.
4. Install Blink on Linux
Blink offers installation packages for Debian and Ubuntu, with additional installation options for other Linux distributions.
Debian and Ubuntu
-
Visit the official installation page:
-
Select your Linux distribution and version.
-
Select the correct system architecture.
-
Choose Blink from the available packages.
-
Copy the installation command generated for your system.
-
Open a terminal.
-
Run the command and enter your system password when requested.
-
Allow the installation to finish.
The installer adds the appropriate AG Projects software repository and installs Blink.
Future updates are provided through your normal system package updates.
Other Linux distributions
Check the official Blink download page for available installation instructions:
https://icanblink.com/download/
Package availability depends on your distribution.
Start Blink
-
Open your desktop's application menu.
-
Search for Blink.
-
Launch the application.
-
When prompted, choose Existing SIP Account.
Continue to the next section.
5. Connect Blink to Voyced
Blink supports direct configuration using a SIP address and password.
Step 1. Enter your SIP address
When asked for your SIP address, use:
YOUR-DID@sip.voyced.eu
Replace YOUR-DID with the username supplied by Voyced.
For example, if your assigned SIP username is 442035001234, enter:
442035001234@sip.voyced.eu
Use the DID exactly as shown in your Voyced account.
Do not replace your SIP username with the international number you normally dial.
Step 2. Enter your password
In the Password field, enter your Voyced Service Password.
Your account details should follow this structure:
| Blink setting | Voyced value |
|---|---|
| SIP Address | YOUR-DID@sip.voyced.eu |
| Username | Your Voyced DID |
| Domain | sip.voyced.eu |
| Password | Your Voyced Service Password |
| Display Name | Your name or company name |
| Account type | Existing SIP Account |
Blink normally obtains the SIP server details automatically using DNS.
Step 3. Save and register
-
Check the SIP address and password.
-
Select Add, Save or Continue, depending on your Blink version.
-
Allow Blink to register your account.
-
Check the registration indicator.
Blink uses coloured indicators to show connection status.
| Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Registered successfully |
| Yellow | Registration in progress |
| Red | Registration failed |
A successfully registered account is ready to make and receive calls.
6. Configure the SIP connection manually
Most users should start with Blink's automatic SIP server discovery.
If the account does not register or uses an unsuitable transport, you may adjust the advanced settings.
macOS
-
Open Blink.
-
Select Preferences or Settings.
-
Open Accounts.
-
Select your Voyced account.
-
Expand Advanced settings.
-
Open SIP Signaling.
Linux
-
Open Blink.
-
Select Blink > Accounts > Manage Accounts.
-
Select your Voyced account.
-
Open its Advanced settings.
-
Locate SIP Signaling.
Voyced connection settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| SIP domain | sip.voyced.eu |
| SIP username | Your Voyced DID |
| Authentication password | Your Service Password |
| Transport | UDP |
| Standard SIP port | 5060 |
| Outbound proxy | Leave empty initially |
| STUN | Not required for normal setup |
| Registration | Enabled |
Blink supports automatic server discovery using DNS.
Voyced provides the following connection methods:
| Method | Host | Port |
|---|---|---|
| Preferred DNS NAPTR | sip.voyced.eu | 0 |
| Alternative DNS SRV | sip.voyced.eu | 5060 |
| Traditional SIP | sip.voyced.eu | 5060 |
| Secondary server | sipnl.voyced.eu | 5060 |
The NAPTR port value of 0 belongs to Voyced's DNS discovery configuration. It is not the normal UDP listening port.
Specify the server manually if needed
Blink supports an Outbound Proxy setting for overriding automatic server selection.
When a manual transport or server override is necessary, use:
sip.voyced.eu:5060;transport=udp
Enter this value under the selected account's Advanced > SIP Signaling > Outbound Proxy.
This directs Blink towards the specified SIP server using UDP.
For normal operation, leave this setting empty and use the automatic connection method.
Save your changes and check registration again.
Secondary server
Voyced also provides:
sipnl.voyced.eu
The secondary server is available for alternative connection arrangements.
Use the primary SIP address unless Voyced Support advises a different configuration.
7. Configure audio devices
Blink lets you choose separate devices for:
-
Microphone input.
-
Speaker output.
-
Incoming call alerts.
macOS
-
Open Blink > Preferences or Settings.
-
Select Audio.
-
Choose your microphone.
-
Select your speaker or headset.
-
Select the device for incoming call ringing.
-
Save your settings.
Linux
-
Open Blink > Preferences.
-
Select Audio.
-
Choose the correct input and output devices.
-
Check the ringing device.
-
Save the configuration.
If your computer has several audio devices, select the headset you normally use for calls.
Echo cancellation
Blink includes acoustic echo cancellation.
Enable this option in the audio settings when using speakers and a microphone.
When using a good headset, echo is less likely.
Microphone permission on macOS
If the other person cannot hear you:
-
Open System Settings.
-
Select Privacy & Security.
-
Open Microphone.
-
Confirm Blink has microphone access.
8. Audio codecs and call quality
Blink supports several audio codecs, including:
| Codec | Use |
|---|---|
| PCMU (G.711 u-law) | Standard telephone audio |
| PCMA (G.711 A-law) | Standard telephone audio |
| G.722 | HD audio where supported |
| Opus | High-quality audio on compatible connections |
| Speex | Optional wideband audio |
For normal Voyced calls, PCMU and PCMA are reliable starting choices.
G.722 and Opus offer improved audio quality where the complete call path supports them.
Change codec preferences
-
Open Blink Preferences.
-
Select Advanced.
-
Open RTP Media.
-
Find the audio codec configuration.
-
Confirm PCMU and PCMA are enabled.
-
Set the preferred codec order.
-
Save the changes.
Blink also supports audio codec settings for individual SIP accounts.
To adjust only your Voyced account:
-
Open Accounts.
-
Select your Voyced account.
-
Expand Advanced.
-
Select RTP Media.
-
Adjust the codecs.
-
Save.
For initial testing, leave the default codec settings unless you encounter problems.
If calls connect without working audio, start by testing PCMU and PCMA.
9. Make and receive telephone calls
Blink uses a search field rather than a traditional telephone dialler on some versions.
Make an outgoing call
-
Open Blink.
-
Confirm your Voyced account is registered.
-
Select your Voyced account if you have several accounts.
-
Enter the telephone number in the search field.
-
Press Enter.
Alternatively, select a contact and use the green telephone icon.
Blink starts the call through your selected SIP account.
Receive an incoming call
When somebody calls your Voyced telephone number, Blink displays an incoming call alert.
Select Accept to answer.
Select Reject or Busy to decline the call, depending on the available options.
Your Voyced account must remain registered and Blink must be running to receive calls.
End a call
Use the red telephone icon or Hang Up control.
Mute a call
During an active call, select the microphone icon.
Select the same icon again to unmute.
Put a call on hold
Blink supports placing active calls on hold.
On macOS, press Space while the appropriate call is selected.
On Linux, use Control + Space.
You may also use the available call controls.
10. Making international calls
Voyced uses the same international dialling format across all connected devices.
Always dial:
00 + Country Code + Telephone Number
For example, to call Voyced in the United Kingdom:
00442035000202
This applies regardless of where you are using Blink.
Automatically convert + into 00
Blink includes a useful number rewriting feature.
If your contacts contain telephone numbers beginning with +, Blink may convert the prefix automatically.
For example:
+442035000202
becomes:
00442035000202
Configure number rewriting
On macOS:
-
Open Blink Preferences or Settings.
-
Select Accounts.
-
Choose your Voyced account.
-
Expand Advanced.
-
Open Phone Numbers.
-
Find Replace Starting + with.
-
Enter
00. -
Save the settings.
On Linux:
-
Open Blink > Accounts > Manage Accounts.
-
Select your Voyced account.
-
Expand Advanced settings.
-
Locate the telephone number formatting or prefix settings.
-
Find the option for replacing a leading +.
-
Enter
00. -
Save.
Blink now converts numbers beginning with + before dialling through the Voyced account.
Numbers already beginning with 00 do not require conversion.
External line prefix
Blink also offers an External Line Prefix setting.
This feature is useful for PBX systems requiring a number before placing outside calls.
For a standard Voyced account, leave the External Line Prefix empty.
You do not need an additional access digit before normal telephone numbers.
11. Voicemail
Your Voyced voicemail access number is:
1233
Listen to voicemail
-
Open Blink.
-
Select your Voyced SIP account.
-
Enter
1233in the search field. -
Press Enter to call.
-
Follow the spoken instructions.
You will reach the voicemail service associated with your Voyced account.
Using the keypad during voicemail
Blink supports DTMF telephone keypad tones.
During an active call:
-
Select the active call.
-
Press the required number using your keyboard.
-
Blink sends the corresponding telephone keypad tone.
This works with voicemail menus and other telephone systems requesting keypad input.
Voicemail notifications
Blink supports SIP voicemail message-waiting information.
Notifications depend on the connected telephone service and its configuration.
Even when no message-waiting indicator appears, you may dial 1233 directly.
Blink's own voicemail features
Blink documentation also describes voicemail provided by its SIP2SIP service.
These settings belong to Blink's own SIP platform.
When using Voyced, your voicemail service is provided through your Voyced account.
Use the Voyced voicemail settings rather than setting up an additional SIP2SIP account.
12. Caller ID
Caller ID is the telephone number shown to the person receiving your call.
By default, Voyced sends the DID assigned to your SIP account.
Blink has a Display Name setting, but this does not automatically change the authorised telephone number presented by Voyced.
Display another telephone number
If you want outgoing calls to display another number, such as your main business telephone number:
-
Log in to your Voyced client area.
-
Open a sales support ticket.
-
Use the subject: Outbound Caller ID adjustment.
-
Provide the DID you are calling from.
-
Provide the telephone number you want displayed.
Voyced will review the request.
When the number already belongs to your Voyced account, the adjustment is normally straightforward.
For numbers outside your Voyced account, proof of ownership and additional verification are required.
Voyced Internal DIDs and extension numbers must not be used as public outbound Caller ID numbers.
13. Using multiple Voyced accounts
Blink supports multiple SIP accounts.
For example, you might have separate telephone numbers for:
-
Your main business.
-
Your personal office line.
-
Another company or branch.
-
Customers in a different country.
Add another account on macOS
-
Open Blink > Preferences or Settings.
-
Select Accounts.
-
Click +.
-
Choose Add an Existing SIP Account.
-
Enter the new SIP address:
SECOND-DID@sip.voyced.eu -
Enter the corresponding Service Password.
-
Save.
Add another account on Linux
-
Open Blink.
-
Select Blink > Accounts > Add Account.
-
Choose Existing SIP Account.
-
Enter the additional Voyced SIP address.
-
Enter its Service Password.
-
Save.
Blink supports several registered SIP accounts simultaneously.
Choose the outgoing account
Before making a call, select the Voyced account you want to use.
Blink allows you to choose which SIP account starts the outgoing call.
Each account uses its own authorised outbound Caller ID unless Voyced has configured a different arrangement.
14. Additional calling features
Blink includes several useful business calling features.
Blind call transfer
A blind transfer sends the caller directly to another person without speaking to the destination first.
On macOS:
-
Select the active call.
-
Drag the call to the destination contact.
-
Blink starts the transfer.
You may also enter a telephone number in the search field and use the transfer function.
On Linux:
-
Select the active call.
-
Open the Contacts list.
-
Right-click the destination contact.
-
Choose Transfer Active Call.
The destination receives the transferred call.
Attended call transfer
An attended transfer lets you speak to the destination before completing the transfer.
On macOS:
-
Keep the original call active.
-
Call the intended recipient.
-
Speak to the recipient.
-
Select the transfer control marked T.
-
Complete the transfer using the displayed menu.
On Linux:
-
Establish a call with the original caller.
-
Call the destination.
-
Drag the original call towards the destination call.
-
Hold Alt while dropping the call onto the destination.
-
Follow the transfer status.
The final behaviour depends on your Voyced account and connected service.
Conference calls
Blink supports combining active audio calls into a conference.
To create a conference:
-
Establish your first call.
-
Establish another call.
-
Drag one active call onto another.
-
Blink combines the sessions into a conference.
You may add participants using the available conference controls.
The number of simultaneous external calls depends on the call capacity assigned to your Voyced service.
Call recording
Blink includes local audio call recording.
During a supported call:
-
Select the recording control.
-
Start recording.
-
Stop when finished.
Recorded calls are stored locally.
On supported macOS versions, recordings appear under History > Audio Recordings.
Follow applicable privacy and consent requirements when recording telephone conversations.
Call history
Blink keeps a history of recent incoming and outgoing calls.
Open History to review previous calls or return a call.
Some server-side history and synchronisation features require services beyond standard Voyced SIP calling.
Contacts
Blink supports contact management and integration with available address book services.
You may add contacts and telephone numbers directly in the application.
For international contacts, use Voyced's 00 format or configure the automatic plus-sign conversion described earlier.
15. Additional Blink features
Blink includes several features beyond normal telephone calling.
These include:
-
Video calling.
-
Instant messaging.
-
Presence information.
-
File transfer.
-
Screen sharing.
-
Audio conferencing.
-
Encrypted voice and messaging options.
Not every feature is available through every SIP provider.
Voyced provides standard SIP telephone calling and compatible voice features.
Messaging, presence synchronisation, file transfer and other advanced features sometimes require services such as SIP2SIP or SylkServer.
If you only want to use your Voyced telephone number for calls, you do not need these additional services.
16. Troubleshooting
Account does not register
Check:
| Setting | Required value |
|---|---|
| SIP Address | YOUR-DID@sip.voyced.eu |
| Username | Your Voyced DID |
| Password | Your Service Password |
| Domain | sip.voyced.eu |
| Preferred transport | UDP |
| Standard port | 5060 |
Confirm your internet connection works.
If automatic server discovery fails, review Section 6 for manual connection settings.
Authentication failed
Check your username and password.
Use your Voyced Service Password, not your web interface password.
Re-enter the details and try again.
Blink registers using the wrong transport
Open your account's Advanced > SIP Signaling settings.
If necessary, set the Outbound Proxy to:
sip.voyced.eu:5060;transport=udp
Save and reconnect.
Outgoing calls fail
Check that your Voyced account is registered.
Confirm you selected the correct account for the call.
For international calls, make sure the dialled number begins with 00.
Check whether sufficient call credit is available and the destination is permitted.
Incoming calls do not ring
Make sure Blink is running.
Check that your account is registered.
Verify that incoming call notifications and ringing are enabled.
Also check the availability or Do Not Disturb controls.
If you use the same Voyced DID on several devices, test with one device to help identify registration conflicts.
Calls connect without audio
Check your microphone and speaker settings.
On macOS, confirm microphone access.
Make sure PCMU and PCMA remain enabled.
Try another internet connection if the problem continues.
Poor audio quality
Check the stability of your internet connection.
Try a wired network or a different headset.
Blink provides audio information during calls, including the selected codec and connection statistics.
International numbers fail
Check the number rewriting settings.
If you use a contact beginning with +, confirm Blink changes the prefix into 00.
Also check the External Line Prefix is empty unless specifically required by your configuration.
Voicemail does not respond to the keypad
Select the active call window.
Use your keyboard to send DTMF tones.
If the voicemail menu does not recognise them, contact Voyced Support.
Wrong Caller ID
Check the selected Voyced account.
Changing the Blink Display Name does not override your authorised outbound telephone number.
Contact Voyced Support to request another Caller ID.
Calls disconnect unexpectedly
Check your network connection.
Record the approximate time, destination number and duration of an affected call.
Provide these details to Voyced Support.
17. Diagnostic logs
Blink includes diagnostic tools for troubleshooting SIP connections.
If Voyced Support requests additional information:
-
Open Blink.
-
Open Preferences or Settings.
-
Find Logging or the SIP trace window.
-
Enable the relevant SIP logging option.
-
Reproduce the problem.
-
Review the resulting log.
-
Provide the requested details to Voyced Support.
Blink's logs help identify SIP registration failures, connection errors and call signalling problems.
Review logs before sharing them, as they may contain account information and telephone numbers.
Do not share your Service Password.
18. Test your Voyced connection
After registering your account, perform the following tests.
Outgoing calls
-
Confirm your Voyced SIP account shows a green registration indicator.
-
Dial another telephone number.
-
Confirm the call connects.
-
Check audio in both directions.
-
Verify the Caller ID displayed to the recipient.
Incoming calls
-
Call your Voyced number from another telephone.
-
Confirm Blink rings.
-
Answer the call.
-
Check the audio.
International calls
Dial an international number beginning with 00.
If you enabled plus-sign conversion, also test a contact saved with +.
Voicemail
Dial 1233 and confirm you reach your Voyced voicemail service.
Background operation
Leave Blink running while switching to another application.
Call your Voyced number again and confirm Blink receives the call.
19. Final setup checklist
Before using Blink for everyday calls, confirm:
-
Your Voyced account registers successfully.
