This guide explains how to connect a Voyced SIP trunk to byon using the standard Voyced SIP connection method.

-
At least one user, extension, group, or call flow already set up
-
Your Voyced SIP details:

Requirements Before You Begin
-
Your byon system must allow an external SIP provider or external SIP trunk
-
SIP registration must be supported
-
SIP transport should use UDP

5060 -
SIP ALG should be disabled on any firewall or router involved
-
Numbers should be sent in full international format

If the byon portal does not show an option to add an external SIP provider, ask byon support to enable third-party SIP trunk support for the customer system.
SIP Trunk Setup Steps
1. Open SIP Provider or Trunk Settings
-
Log in to the byon admin portal.
-
Go to the telephony or PBX settings area.
-
Look for one of these sections:
-
SIP Provider
-
SIP Trunks
-
External Lines
-
Provider Accounts
-
Trunk Groups
-
Lines / Gateways
-
The exact name can vary depending on the byon platform being used.
2. Add a New External SIP Provider
Create a new SIP provider or SIP trunk.
Enter:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Provider Name | Voyced |
| Trunk Name | Voyced |
| Provider Type | Generic SIP Provider |
| Connection Type | Register / Account Based |
| SIP Server / Registrar | sip.voyced.eu |
| SIP Proxy | sip.voyced.eu |
| SIP Domain / Realm | sip.voyced.eu |
| SIP Port | 5060 |
| Transport | UDP |
If there is an outbound proxy field, leave it blank unless byon requires it.
If it must be filled in, use:
sip.voyced.eu
3. Enter Authentication Details
In the authentication section, enter:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Username | Your-Voyced-DID |
| Authentication Username | Your-Voyced-DID |
| SIP User ID | Your-Voyced-DID |
| Password | YourServicePassword |
| From User | Your-Voyced-DID |
| From Domain | sip.voyced.eu |
Save the settings.
4. Enable SIP Registration
Enable registration for the Voyced trunk.
Use:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Register | Enabled |
| Registration Required | Yes |
| Registration Interval | 3600 seconds |
| Keep Alive | Enabled |
| NAT Keep Alive | Enabled, if available |
After saving, the trunk should show as registered.
If it does not register, check:
-
Username
-
Password
-
SIP server
-
SIP port
-
Firewall rules
5. Configure Codecs
Set codec priority to:
-
PCMA / G.711 A-law / alaw
-
PCMU / G.711 U-law / ulaw
Disable unused codecs where possible.
Do not force HD codecs unless both systems support them.
6. Assign the Voyced DID
Add or assign the Voyced number:
Your-Voyced-DID
Depending on the byon system, this may be called:
-
DID
-
DDI
-
External Number
-
Public Number
-
Trunk Number
-
Incoming Number
-
Number Mapping
Use the full number format supplied by Voyced.
7. Configure Inbound Calls
Create an inbound route for:
Your-Voyced-DID
Route it to the required destination, such as:
-
User / extension
-
Ring group
-
IVR
-
Queue
-
Call flow
-
Reception group
Example:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Route Name | Voyced Inbound |
| DID / DDI | Your-Voyced-DID |
| Source Trunk | Voyced |
| Destination | Reception / Extension / IVR |
Save the route.
8. Configure Outbound Calls
Create an outbound route that uses the Voyced trunk.
Example:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Route Name | Voyced Outbound |
| Trunk / Provider | Voyced |
| Dial Pattern | International numbers |
| Caller ID | Your-Voyced-DID |
Use full international number format.
Example:
442012345678
Avoid sending local numbers such as:
02012345678
unless byon rewrites the number before sending it to Voyced.
If users dial with a prefix, such as 0 or 9, make sure byon removes that prefix before sending the call to Voyced.
Testing Your Setup

-
Call your Voyced number from a mobile phone.
-
Confirm the call reaches the correct byon destination.

Check that audio works both ways.
