SIP Trunk Setup for Digium D80

Setting up your device with Voyced as your Business VoIP Provider


What You’ll Need

  • Digium D80 IP Phone

  • Power and network connectivity (PoE or adapter)

  • Your Voyced account details:

    • Account / telephone number: Your-Voyced-DID

    • Service password: YourServicePassword

    • SIP server: sip.voyced.eu

  • Web browser on the same network as the phone

  • Admin login credentials for the D80 web interface or access to the phone’s touchscreen menus


Requirements Before You Begin

  • Update the phone’s firmware to the latest available version

  • Change the default admin password

  • Ensure the phone has a stable internet connection

  • If using a firewall, allow outbound UDP to sip.voyced.eu and sipnl.voyced.eu on port 5060

  • Disable SIP ALG on your router

  • STUN must be disabled


SIP Trunk Setup Steps

1. Access the Phone Interface

  • Find the phone’s IP address via Menu > Status > Network

  • Enter this IP in your browser or configure directly on the touchscreen

  • Log in as admin

 

2. SIP Account Registration

  • Account Name: Voyced

  • SIP User ID / Authentication ID: Your-Voyced-DID

  • Authentication Password: YourServicePassword

  • Display Name: Voyced

  • Caller ID Header: PAI-RPID-F

 

3. SIP Server Configuration

Recommended (redundant) setup:

  • Primary SIP Server: sip.voyced.eu

  • Port: 0

  • Transport Type: DNS NAPTR

If DNS NAPTR not supported:

  • Primary SIP Server: sip.voyced.eu, Port 5060

  • Secondary SIP Server (fallback): sipnl.voyced.eu, Port 5060

Transport Protocol: UDP

 

4. Voicemail

  • Voicemail Number: 1233

  • MWI Subscribe: Enabled

 

5. Codec Settings

List in this priority order (from higher quality to lower):

  • G722 **

  • G723 **

  • G726 **

  • PCMU (u-law)

  • PCMA (a-law)

  • G711

  • G729

  • Opus **

  • iLBC **

  • AMR-WB **

  • AMR **

  • GSM

  • Any other codecs your device supports

Codecs marked with ** may be supported but aren't guaranteed to work across all global routes.
If you have audio issues, switch back to G711 or G729 and test again.

 

6. Advanced Settings

  • DNS Mode: SRV (fallback to manual host:port if not supported)

  • RTP Port Range: 10000–20000

  • Keep Alive Interval: 30 seconds

  • Enable Rport: Yes

  • SIP Version: RFC3261

  • SIP Registration Retry Time: 32 seconds

  • Strict Proxy: Enabled

  • SRTP: Disabled unless specifically required by a secure trunk

  • NAT Traversal: Off

  • STUN: Disabled

 

Save and Finalise

  • Save settings and reboot the phone

  • Ensure the Voyced account shows as “Registered” in the phone’s status screen

 

Testing Your Setup

  • Make and receive calls

  • Check audio quality both ways

  • Confirm voicemail access with 1233

  • Test DTMF for menu navigation


Final Tips

  • Do not expose the phone’s interface to the internet

  • Always keep firmware up to date

  • Ensure DNS NAPTR → SRV → host fallback is correctly configured

  • Voyced SIP accounts do not guarantee emergency call routing
