SIP Trunk Setup for Snom D785

Setting up your device with Voyced as your Business VoIP Provider.


What You’ll Need

  • Snom D785 IP phone

  • Your Voyced account details:

    • Account / telephone number: Your-Voyced-DID

    • Service password: YourServicePassword

    • SIP server: sip.voyced.eu

  • Access to the phone’s web interface (via IP address in browser)

  • Admin login credentials for the phone


Requirements Before You Begin

  • Ensure the phone is running the latest Snom firmware

  • Change the default admin password

  • Have a stable internet connection

  • If using a firewall, allow outbound UDP to sip.voyced.eu and sipnl.voyced.eu on port 5060

  • Disable SIP ALG on your router

  • STUN must be disabled


SIP Trunk Setup Steps

1. Log in to the Web Interface

  • Press Menu > Information > System Info to find the IP address

  • Enter the IP address into your browser

  • Log in as admin

 

2. SIP Account Registration (Identity 1)

Go to Identity 1 > Login:

  • Account: Your-Voyced-DID

  • Authentication Name: Your-Voyced-DID

  • Password: YourServicePassword

  • Display Name: Voyced

  • Caller ID Header: PAI-RPID-F

 

3. SIP Server Configuration

Go to Identity 1 > SIP:

  • Registrar: sip.voyced.eu

  • Port: 5060

  • Transport: UDP

  • DNS Mode: SRV (fallback to host and port)

If NAPTR or SRV not supported:

  • Outbound Proxy: sipnl.voyced.eu

  • Port: 5060

 

4. Voicemail

Go to Identity 1 > Mailbox:

  • Mailbox Number: 1233

  • MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) Subscribe: Enabled

 

5. Codec Settings

Go to Identity 1 > RTP > Codecs:

List in this priority order (from higher quality to lower):

  • G722 **

  • G723 **

  • G726 **

  • PCMU (u-law)

  • PCMA (a-law)

  • G711

  • G729

  • Opus **

  • iLBC **

  • AMR-WB **

  • AMR **

  • GSM

  • Any other codecs your device supports

Codecs marked with ** may be supported but aren't guaranteed to work across all global routes.
If you have audio issues, switch back to G711 or G729 and test again.

 

6. Advanced Settings

Go to Identity 1 > SIP:

  • Keep Alive Type: UDP

  • Keep Alive Interval: 30 seconds

  • Enable Rport: Yes

  • SIP Version: RFC3261

  • Enable Strict Proxy: Yes

  • Transaction Timers (T1/T2/T4): 500 / 4000 / 5000

  • RTP Encryption (SRTP): Disabled

  • Registration Failure Retry Time: 32 seconds

  • Strict UA Match: Yes

  • Enable RFC4475: Yes

 

Save and Finalise

  • Click Apply

  • Disable unused identities to improve security

  • Reboot if required

 

Testing Your Setup

  • Call Your-Voyced-DID from another phone

  • Make an outbound call

  • Check:

    • Audio is clear both ways

    • DTMF works in voicemail/menus

    • Caller ID is correct


Final Tips

  • Never expose the web interface to the internet

  • Always use UDP

  • DNS order: NAPTR → SRV → host fallback

  • Keep firmware updated

  • Use VLAN or reserved IP where possible

  • Voyced SIP accounts do not guarantee emergency call routing
