SIP Trunk Setup for Polycom VVX 450

Setting up your device with Voyced as your Business VoIP Provider.


What You’ll Need

  • Polycom VVX 450 IP phone

  • Internet connection

  • Power adapter or PoE switch

  • Web browser on the same network

  • Voyced SIP account details:

    • Your-Voyced-DID (username)

    • YourServicePassword (password)

    • SIP server: sip.voyced.eu


Reset the Phone (Optional)

  • Press Home > Settings > Advanced

  • Default admin password: 456

  • Select Administration Settings > Reset to Defaults > Reset to Factory

  • Confirm and wait for reboot


Requirements Before You Begin

  • Connect the phone to the network and power

  • Find its IP address: Home > Settings > Status > Platform > Phone > IP

  • Open the IP address in your browser

  • Login:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: 456

 

Security Tip:
Change the admin password under Settings > Advanced > Administration Settings > Change Password


SIP Trunk Setup Steps

Only change the settings below. Leave all others as they are.

1. SIP Line Registration (Line 1)

  • Display Name: Voyced

  • Address: Your-Voyced-DID

  • Authentication User ID: Your-Voyced-DID

  • Authentication Password: YourServicePassword

  • Label: Voyced

  • SIP Server Address: sip.voyced.eu

  • SIP Server Port: 5060

  • Transport Protocol: UDP

If DNS NAPTR or SRV is not supported:

  • Secondary Server Address: sipnl.voyced.eu

  • Secondary Server Port: 5060

 

2. Basic Settings

  • Voice Mail Number: 1233

  • Subscribe to Voice Mail:

  • DTMF Type: RFC2833

  • Enable Fallback:

  • Fallback Interval: 1800

  • Use STUN: ❌ Disabled

 

3. Codec Settings

Go to Settings > Codec Priorities.

List in this priority order (from higher quality to lower):

  • G722 **

  • G723 **

  • G726 **

  • PCMU (u-law)

  • PCMA (a-law)

  • G711

  • G729

  • Opus **

  • iLBC **

  • AMR-WB **

  • AMR **

  • GSM

  • Any other codecs your device supports

Codecs marked with ** may be supported but aren't guaranteed to work across all global routes.
If you have audio issues, switch back to G711 or G729 and test again.

 

4. Advanced Settings

  • Keep Alive Type: UDP

  • Keep Alive Interval: 30

  • Enable Rport:

  • DNS Mode: SRV (fallback to host if SRV not supported)

  • SIP Version: RFC3261

  • Local SIP Port: 5060

  • Enable Strict Proxy:

  • Caller ID Header: PAI-RPID-F

  • Transaction Timers (T1/T2/T4): 500 / 4000 / 5000

  • RTP Encryption (SRTP): Disabled

  • Unregister on Reboot:

  • Registration Failure Retry Time: 32 seconds

  • Strict UA Match:

  • Enable RFC4475:

 

Save and Finalise

  • Click Save or Apply

  • Disable unused lines by setting them to inactive

  • Reboot the phone if prompted

 

Testing Your Setup

  • Call Your-Voyced-DID from another phone

  • Make an outbound call

  • Confirm:

    • Audio is clear both ways

    • DTMF works in menus or voicemail

    • Caller ID is correct


Final Tips

  • Never expose the phone’s web interface to the internet

  • Always use UDP

  • Disable STUN and proxy

  • DNS order: NAPTR → SRV → host fallback

  • Keep firmware updated

  • Use VLAN or reserved IP if supported

  • Voyced SIP accounts do not guarantee emergency call routing
