Bria Enterprise

Bria Softphone Setup with Voyced

Bria is a SIP softphone for making and receiving telephone calls using a computer, smartphone or tablet.

You can connect your Voyced telephone number to Bria on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.

This guide covers Bria Solo, Bria Teams and existing Bria Enterprise installations.

1. Choose your Bria version

Bria offers three main products for SIP calling.

Product Suitable for
Bria Solo Individuals using one or more SIP telephone accounts
Bria Teams Businesses managing several users and their telephone accounts
Bria Enterprise Organisations using centrally managed Bria installations

Bria Solo and Bria Teams support up to five SIP accounts per user, depending on the subscription.

Important information about Bria Enterprise

Since 1 November 2024, Voyced has stopped selling new and renewal licences for Bria Enterprise.

This decision followed concerns about missed calls, reliability and the provider's billing arrangements.

Existing Bria Enterprise users with working licences may continue using their software according to their licence terms.

Bria Solo and Bria Teams are separate products available directly from Bria's developer. Voyced does not manage these subscriptions.

2. What you need

To connect Bria to Voyced, prepare:

  • Your Voyced DID (telephone number or SIP account username).

  • Your Voyced Service Password.

  • A working internet connection.

  • Your Bria account or an existing Enterprise login.

Find your Voyced SIP details

  1. Log in to your Voyced Hosted IPPBX.

  2. Open Cloud PBX / IP Centrex > Phone Lines.

  3. Find the telephone number you want to connect.

  4. Select the wrench icon to open its account details.

  5. Use the displayed DID as your SIP username.

  6. Locate the Service Password under My Profile > Settings.

Your Service Password is specific to your VoIP account and is different from your web login password.

3. Voyced SIP connection settings

Use the following settings when configuring Bria.

Setting Value
Account name / Label Voyced
Account type SIP
SIP username / User ID Your Voyced DID
Authentication username Your Voyced DID, if requested
SIP password Your Voyced Service Password
Domain / SIP server sip.voyced.eu
Port 5060
Transport UDP
Register with domain Enabled
SIP proxy Leave empty
STUN Disabled
Display name Your name or business name
Voicemail number 1233

Advanced server options

Voyced supports DNS-based server selection for improved availability.

Connection method Host Port
Preferred DNS NAPTR sip.voyced.eu 0
DNS SRV alternative sip.voyced.eu 5060
Traditional SIP sip.voyced.eu 5060
Secondary server sipnl.voyced.eu 5060

Where Bria does not offer separate DNS NAPTR or SRV options, use the traditional UDP connection on port 5060.

The secondary server is available as a fallback when your configuration supports alternative SIP servers.

4. Configure Bria Solo

Bria Solo uses an online account portal to manage SIP settings.

Unlike some softphones, you normally enter your Voyced SIP details in the Bria Solo Portal rather than directly inside the application.

Step 1. Create or open your Bria Solo account

  1. Visit https://solo.softphone.com/login

  2. Create a Bria Solo account or sign in.

  3. Verify your email address if requested.

  4. Complete the initial Bria account setup.

  5. Open the Bria Solo dashboard.

Your Bria login uses the email address and password chosen during registration.

These credentials are different from your Voyced SIP credentials.

Step 2. Add Voyced as your voice provider

  1. Follow the initial Add Voice Account setup.

  2. Choose Configure SIP Settings if a suitable Voyced provider entry is not offered.

  3. Enter sip.voyced.eu as the domain.

  4. Set the SIP port to 5060.

  5. Select UDP for the transport.

  6. Enable SIP registration for incoming calls.

  7. Enter your Voyced DID as the SIP username.

  8. Enter your Voyced Service Password as the SIP password.

  9. Enter a display name, such as your name or business name.

  10. Save the configuration.

Where the portal asks for a separate authorisation username, use your Voyced DID.

If the setup includes a Voicemail Number field, enter 1233.

Step 3. Install Bria

  1. Download the Bria Solo application for your device.

  2. Install and open the application.

  3. Sign in using your Bria Solo email address and password.

  4. Wait while Bria downloads your account configuration.

  5. Check your Voyced account status.

On Windows and macOS, a green account indicator shows the connection is active.

On Android and iOS, the dialler should display Phone Ready.

Your Voyced account is now available in Bria.

5. Configure Bria Teams

Bria Teams is designed for businesses with several users.

An administrator manages the shared SIP server settings, while each user receives their own Voyced account credentials.

Step 1. Add the Voyced voice service

As a Bria Teams administrator:

  1. Sign in to https://teams.softphone.com/login

  2. Open Voice and Video.

  3. Select Add Voice Configuration.

  4. Choose Configure SIP Settings.

  5. Enter Voyced as the service label.

  6. Set the Domain to sip.voyced.eu.

  7. Set the Port to 5060.

  8. Select UDP.

  9. Enable Register with domain and receive calls.

  10. Set Voicemail Number to 1233.

  11. Leave the optional SIP proxy empty.

  12. Save the voice configuration.

If Bria asks whether your service requires separate authorisation usernames, use this option only when needed.

For standard Voyced accounts, the DID serves as both the SIP username and authorisation username.

Step 2. Assign Voyced accounts to users

  1. Open Team Members.

  2. Select the user you want to configure.

  3. Choose Add Voice Account.

  4. Select the Voyced voice service.

  5. Enter the user's Voyced DID under Extension/Username.

  6. Enter the corresponding Service Password under Voice Password.

  7. Enter the user's display name.

  8. Save the account.

Repeat these steps for additional users.

Each user should receive the credentials for their assigned Voyced telephone number.

Step 3. Install and connect

Ask each user to:

  1. Download the Bria application.

  2. Sign in with their Bria Teams account.

  3. Wait for the assigned voice account to load.

  4. Check the Voyced registration status.

  5. Make a test call.

Bria Teams also includes its own team communication service.

For calls through Voyced, make sure the Voyced SIP account is selected as the outgoing account.

6. Existing Bria Enterprise installations

Bria Enterprise uses centrally managed account provisioning.

For existing Voyced-managed Bria Enterprise installations, the setup normally requires only the Bria login details previously supplied.

Connect an existing account

  1. Install the Bria Enterprise application.

  2. Open Bria.

  3. Enter your existing Enterprise login credentials.

  4. Allow the application to retrieve its configuration.

  5. Check the registered telephone accounts.

  6. Make an outbound and inbound test call.

You do not normally need to enter the Voyced SIP server manually in this type of installation.

If an existing Enterprise account stops working, contact the organisation responsible for its Bria provisioning or Voyced Support for assistance with your Voyced service.

7. Adding more Voyced telephone numbers

Bria Solo, Teams and Enterprise support multiple SIP accounts, subject to your subscription and provisioning.

For example, you might want to use:

  • Your main business number.

  • Your direct office number.

  • A second number in another country.

In Bria Solo, add another voice account through the Solo Portal.

In Bria Teams, the administrator adds the additional voice account and assigns the correct user credentials.

For existing Bria Enterprise installations, follow your organisation's provisioning process.

Selecting the outgoing account

If you have multiple SIP accounts:

  1. Open Bria.

  2. Find the outgoing account selector near the dialler.

  3. Select the Voyced number you want to use.

  4. Dial your destination.

Bria displays the available accounts so you can select the appropriate line before making a call.

8. Caller ID

Caller ID is the telephone number shown to the person receiving your call.

By default, Voyced displays the DID assigned to your SIP account.

The Display Name field in Bria identifies your account and may be included in SIP signalling, but changing this field does not automatically change your authorised outbound telephone number.

Displaying another telephone number

If you want to display your company's main number instead of the DID assigned to the calling account:

  1. Log in to your Voyced client area.

  2. Open a sales support ticket.

  3. Use the subject: Outbound Caller ID adjustment.

  4. List the Voyced DID you are calling from.

  5. Provide the number you want displayed.

Voyced will review the request.

For numbers outside your Voyced account, proof of ownership and additional verification are required.

Voyced Internal DIDs and extension numbers must not be used as public outbound Caller ID numbers.

9. Voicemail setup

The Voyced voicemail access number is:

1233

Configure the voicemail button

For Bria Solo and Teams:

  1. Log in to your Bria Portal.

  2. Open the relevant voice configuration.

  3. Find the Voicemail Number field.

  4. Enter 1233.

  5. Save the changes.

For centrally provisioned Enterprise accounts, voicemail settings are normally managed by the administrator.

Listen to voicemail

  1. Open Bria.

  2. Select your Voyced account.

  3. Press the voicemail button if configured.

  4. Alternatively, dial 1233.

  5. Follow the voice instructions.

Bria also supports Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) notifications where supported by the connected SIP service.

10. Audio settings and codecs

Bria supports several audio codecs, depending on the version and platform.

For most Voyced telephone connections, use these common codecs:

Codec Recommended use
G.722 HD audio where supported
PCMU (G.711 u-law) Standard voice calls
PCMA (G.711 a-law) Standard voice calls
G.729 Optional, where available
Opus Optional, where supported

On stable Wi-Fi or wired connections, G.722 offers improved audio quality when the complete call path supports the codec.

For broad compatibility, PCMU and PCMA are reliable starting choices.

Changing codec settings

For Bria Solo or Teams:

  1. Sign in to your Bria Portal.

  2. Open the voice configuration settings.

  3. Locate the audio codec options.

  4. Select or prioritise the required codecs.

  5. Save the settings.

  6. Restart or reconnect Bria if required.

Codec availability varies by subscription, application version and device.

If calls connect without audio, test PCMU and PCMA first.

11. Making international calls

Voyced uses a standard international dialling format across all connected devices.

Always dial:

00 + Country Code + Telephone Number

For example, to call Voyced in the United Kingdom:

00442035000202

Use this format regardless of the country from which you are calling.

Contacts and dial plans

Save international contacts using the 00 format.

Bria also supports dial plans that change numbers before placing calls.

For example, imported contacts might contain telephone numbers beginning with a plus sign.

If your organisation uses number conversion rules, make sure the final number sent to Voyced begins with 00 followed by the country code.

Avoid applying another provider's default international calling rules without checking them first.

12. Receiving calls on Android and iOS

Bria includes a Push Service designed to support incoming calls when the mobile application is in the background or the device is locked.

Availability and behaviour depend on your Bria subscription, account configuration and mobile operating system.

Enable push notifications

On supported Bria mobile versions:

  1. Open Bria.

  2. Go to Settings > Accounts.

  3. Temporarily disable the relevant SIP account.

  4. Open the SIP account settings.

  5. Enable Use Push Notifications.

  6. Accept the Bria Push Service agreement if requested.

  7. Save the changes.

  8. Re-enable the SIP account.

The Bria Push Service registers with the SIP provider on behalf of the application while the app is in the background.

Check mobile permissions

Allow Bria to:

  • Receive notifications.

  • Use the microphone.

  • Access mobile data and Wi-Fi.

  • Run in the background where your operating system allows this.

Test incoming calls while Bria is open, in the background and while your device is locked.

Because Voyced previously experienced missed-call issues with Bria Enterprise, testing these situations is particularly important before relying on the application for business calls.

13. Additional calling features

Bria offers several functions for everyday business calls.

Call hold

During a call, select Hold to temporarily pause the conversation.

Select Resume to return to the caller.

Call transfer

Bria supports blind and attended call transfers.

A blind transfer sends the caller directly to another number.

An attended transfer lets you speak to the receiving person before completing the transfer.

Use the Transfer option in Bria's active-call controls.

Available transfer behaviour depends on the Voyced service and account configuration.

DTMF

DTMF sends keypad tones during a call.

These are used by voicemail and automated telephone menus.

Bria supports common DTMF methods, including RFC 4733 and SIP INFO.

Keep your configured default unless telephone menu selections fail.

14. Testing your connection

After registration, carry out the following tests.

Test outgoing calls

  1. Select your Voyced account in Bria.

  2. Dial another telephone number.

  3. Confirm the call connects.

  4. Check that audio works in both directions.

  5. Verify the Caller ID received by the other person.

Test incoming calls

  1. Call your Voyced number from another telephone.

  2. Confirm Bria rings.

  3. Answer the call.

  4. Check audio in both directions.

Test voicemail

Dial 1233 and confirm you reach your voicemail.

Test international calls

Dial an international number using 00 followed by the country code and telephone number.

Test mobile background operation

On Android or iOS, repeat an incoming call test while Bria is in the background and the device is locked.

15. Troubleshooting

Bria is signed in, but Voyced is not registered

Your Bria application login and Voyced SIP registration are separate.

Check the Voyced SIP details stored in the Bria Portal.

Verify the DID, Service Password, domain, port and transport.

SIP authentication error

Check that your SIP username matches the Voyced DID and the Service Password is correct.

Do not use your Voyced website login password.

Calls fail immediately

Check that the account is registered and the correct outgoing account is selected.

For international calls, confirm the number starts with 00.

Also check that the destination is permitted and sufficient call credit is available.

Incoming calls do not ring

Confirm your account registration.

Check your device's Do Not Disturb settings and any active call forwarding.

On mobile, check the Push Service and notification permissions.

If several devices use the same Voyced SIP credentials, test with one device to help identify registration conflicts.

No audio or one-way audio

Check the microphone and speaker permissions.

Try a different internet connection.

Start with PCMU and PCMA for codec compatibility.

Calls disconnect or audio breaks up

Check internet stability and Wi-Fi signal quality.

Try a wired connection where possible.

Avoid overloaded networks.

Voicemail button does not work

Confirm that the voicemail number is set to 1233.

You may also dial 1233 directly.

Caller ID is incorrect

Check the selected outbound Voyced account.

Changing your Bria display name will not override Voyced's authorised Caller ID.

Contact Voyced Support if a different telephone number needs to be displayed.

16. Final setup checklist

Before using Bria for daily calls, confirm:

  • Your Bria application login works.

  • The Voyced SIP account is registered.

  • Outbound calls connect.

  • Incoming calls ring.

  • Audio works in both directions.

  • The correct Caller ID is displayed.

  • Voicemail is available through 1233.

  • International numbers use the 00 prefix.

  • Mobile background calling has been tested where applicable.

Your Bria softphone is ready for use once these checks succeed.
