GOautodial

SIP Trunk Setup for GOautodial

Use Voyced as an external SIP provider

This guide explains how to connect your Voyced telephone number and SIP trunk to GOautodial.

GOautodial is a contact centre platform based on Asterisk and VICIdial. It supports incoming calls, agent-managed outbound calls, call queues and reporting.

You can connect GOautodial to Voyced using standard SIP registration with your Voyced username and password.

This manual covers GOautodial 4 Community Edition and similar installations using the GOautodial Carrier Wizard.

Older versions may use the VICIdial administration interface. The SIP settings are similar, but the menus differ.

Supported Calling

Voyced provides telephone services for normal business conversations.

You can use Voyced with GOautodial for:

  • Incoming customer calls

  • Agent-handled telephone conversations

  • Individual, manually initiated outbound calls

  • Normal business callbacks

Voyced does not permit predictive dialling, power dialling, automated bulk calling or short-burst calling traffic.

Configure GOautodial for manual, agent-controlled calling when using Voyced.

What You'll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Administrator access to GOautodial

  • A working GOautodial installation

  • At least one configured agent

  • A working SIP telephone, softphone or WebRTC agent phone

  • Internet access from your GOautodial server

  • Permission to create carriers and modify call routing

  • An active Voyced telephone number

Your Voyced SIP details:

Setting Value
SIP Server sip.voyced.eu
SIP Username Your-Voyced-DID
SIP Password YourServicePassword
SIP Destination Port 5060
Transport UDP
Authentication SIP registration

Replace the username and password placeholders with your actual Voyced details.

Requirements Before You Begin

Your GOautodial installation must have:

  • Working DNS resolution

  • Network access to sip.voyced.eu

  • Available SIP signalling and RTP resources

  • At least one registered agent telephone

  • A configured agent user

  • Sufficient simultaneous call capacity

  • Access to the Carrier configuration

Recommended audio codecs:

Codec Name
G.711 A-law alaw
G.711 μ-law ulaw

Recommended DTMF signalling:

RFC2833

Telephone Number Format

Voyced expects outgoing telephone numbers in international format without a leading +.

For example:

442012345678

Do not send:

+442012345678

If GOautodial adds an internal dialling prefix, remove it before sending the call to Voyced.

SIP Trunk Setup Steps

1. Log in to GOautodial

  1. Open your GOautodial administration portal.

  2. Log in using your administrator credentials.

  3. Open Settings.

  4. Select Carriers.

  5. Click the + button to add a carrier.

In some versions, the menu appears as:

Admin Settings → Carriers → Add New Carrier

The Carrier Wizard will open.

2. Select the Carrier Type

The wizard asks you to choose a carrier type.

Select:

Manual

Click Next.

This lets you enter the Voyced SIP details rather than selecting a predefined provider.

3. Create the Voyced Carrier

In Add New Carrier, enter:

Field Value
Carrier ID VOYCED
Carrier Name Voyced
Carrier Description Voyced Business SIP Trunk
User Group Your authorised user group
Authentication Registration

If all users in this GOautodial account may access the carrier, select All User Groups where available.

Use:

Registration

for Authentication.

Do not select IP-Based authentication for the standard Voyced connection.

Your Voyced account uses a SIP username and service password.

4. Enter the SIP Credentials

The Carrier Wizard displays additional fields when Registration is selected.

Enter:

Field Value
Username Your-Voyced-DID
Password YourServicePassword
Server IP/Host sip.voyced.eu
Port 5060
Protocol SIP

For example, if your Voyced SIP username is 442012345678, enter:

442012345678

in the Username field.

Use the exact service password supplied with your Voyced account.

The SIP server must be:

sip.voyced.eu

Use the hostname rather than a fixed IP address.

5. Configure Dial Prefix and Audio

Continue through the wizard.

Configure:

Field Value
Dial Prefix Leave empty initially
Codecs ALAW and ULAW
DTMF Mode RFC2833
Protocol SIP
Active Yes

Dial Prefix

Leave this field empty for the initial setup.

GOautodial can apply a dialling prefix at carrier or campaign level.

Adding a prefix in several places can result in incorrect outgoing telephone numbers.

We will use a separate campaign access prefix in the outbound routing example.

Audio Codecs

Select:

ALAW
ULAW

These correspond to G.711 A-law and G.711 μ-law.

Other codecs are not required for the initial connection.

DTMF

Select:

RFC2833

This supports telephone keypad input during calls.

Click Submit to create the carrier.

6. Activate the Voyced Carrier

Return to the Carriers overview.

Find:

VOYCED

If the carrier is not already active:

  1. Select its checkbox.

  2. Open the Action menu.

  3. Choose Activate Selected.

  4. Confirm.

The carrier status should change to Active.

If the carrier already shows Active, no further activation is needed.

An Active status means the carrier is enabled in GOautodial. It does not, by itself, confirm SIP registration.

7. Check the Advanced SIP Configuration

Open:

Settings → Carriers → Voyced

Select Advanced Configuration.

GOautodial exposes several technical settings:

  • Registration String

  • Account Entry

  • Globals String

  • Dialplan Entry

These settings control the underlying Asterisk SIP connection.

If the Carrier Wizard has generated the correct registration and account configuration, retain it.

The following values show what the Voyced configuration should contain.

8. Check the Registration String

Locate:

Registration String

For a traditional Asterisk SIP trunk, the registration has this format:

register => Your-Voyced-DID:YourServicePassword@sip.voyced.eu:5060/Your-Voyced-DID

Replace the placeholders with your actual credentials.

For example:

register => 442012345678:YourServicePassword@sip.voyced.eu:5060/442012345678

The registration string contains:

Part Purpose
SIP username Identifies your Voyced account
SIP password Authenticates your account
SIP server sip.voyced.eu
SIP port 5060
Final username Contact extension for incoming calls

Check that your saved registration settings match the required account.

Do not add a second registration for the same account if the wizard has already created one.

If your SIP password contains characters that need special handling in an Asterisk registration string, use the appropriate escaping supported by your installed Asterisk version.

Save any corrections.

9. Check the SIP Account Entry

Locate:

Account Entry

For traditional Asterisk SIP configuration, the Voyced peer can use:

[voyced]
type=peer
host=sip.voyced.eu
port=5060
username=Your-Voyced-DID
fromuser=Your-Voyced-DID
fromdomain=sip.voyced.eu
secret=YourServicePassword
context=trunkinbound
dtmfmode=rfc2833
disallow=all
allow=alaw
allow=ulaw
qualify=yes
insecure=port,invite
canreinvite=no

Replace the username and password placeholders.

Peer Name

The name:

voyced

identifies the carrier inside Asterisk.

The dialplan must use this same peer name.

Host

Use:

sip.voyced.eu

Context

Use the incoming trunk context provided by your GOautodial installation.

On many VICIdial-based installations, this is:

trunkinbound

If your system already uses a different working inbound carrier context, retain the correct context for that installation.

Do not use an unrestricted internal extension context for incoming provider calls.

Audio

The entries:

disallow=all
allow=alaw
allow=ulaw

enable the recommended codecs.

Qualify

The setting:

qualify=yes

allows Asterisk to check SIP peer reachability using OPTIONS messages.

Incoming Requests

The setting:

insecure=port,invite

permits incoming INVITE requests from an identified provider peer without requiring separate authentication on each incoming call.

Incoming requests must still match the correct configured peer.

Save any required changes.

10. Check the Carrier Globals String

Locate:

Globals String

If your dialplan uses an Asterisk global variable for the Voyced carrier, configure:

VOYCED=SIP/voyced

This provides a reusable name for the SIP peer.

It is not required if your dialplan directly references:

SIP/voyced

Do not overwrite other existing global variables.

11. Configure the Outbound Dialplan

The GOautodial dialplan determines how telephone numbers are passed to the carrier.

The following example assumes users or campaigns add one internal access digit:

9

For example, GOautodial dials:

9442012345678

Asterisk must remove the first digit before sending the call to Voyced.

The number received by Voyced must be:

442012345678

Open:

Advanced Configuration → Dialplan Entry

A typical GOautodial dialplan for this arrangement is:

exten => _9[1-9]X.,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _9[1-9]X.,n,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:1}@voyced,60)
exten => _9[1-9]X.,n,Hangup()

This example uses the VICIdial call-logging AGI.

The address:

127.0.0.1:4577

refers to the local GOautodial service on installations using the standard VICIdial AGI arrangement.

The expression:

${EXTEN:1}

removes the first digit from the dialled number.

Example

Stage Number
Number passed to dialplan 9442012345678
Remove first digit 442012345678
Number sent to Voyced 442012345678

This example is suitable for testing a routing plan with access prefix 9.

The pattern is broad. Restrict permitted destinations through your campaign and routing settings.

If your installation already has a working VICIdial dialplan, preserve its existing call logging, recording and routing behaviour while making the required number-format changes.

Click Submit or Save.

12. Verify SIP Registration

If you administer your own GOautodial server, you can check the SIP registration using Asterisk.

For a traditional SIP trunk:

asterisk -rx "sip show registry"

Look for the Voyced registration.

Expected result:

Registered

You can also inspect the configured peer:

asterisk -rx "sip show peer voyced"

If your installation uses a different SIP driver, use the registration diagnostics provided for that driver.

The advanced carrier examples in this manual use the traditional Asterisk SIP driver found in many GOautodial 4 installations.

A successful registration confirms the SIP account has authenticated with Voyced.

It does not confirm that incoming and outgoing routing is working.

13. Create a Manual Outbound Campaign

To make agent-controlled outgoing calls, create a manual campaign.

Navigate to:

Telephony → Campaigns

Click Add New Campaign.

Choose:

Outbound

Enter:

Field Value
Campaign Name Voyced Business Calls
Carrier to use for this Campaign Voyced
Dial Method Manual
Auto Dial Level Off, where available

Use the Manual dial method.

Do not select:

  • Auto Dial

  • Predictive

GOautodial provides these features, but they are not suitable for the permitted Voyced retail calling traffic.

If you intend to make individual calls without automatically progressing through a calling list, use the agent's manual dial function.

Save the campaign.

14. Configure Campaign Number Formatting

Open your new campaign.

Locate the dial prefix settings.

For the dialplan example in Step 11, use:

Field Value
Dial Prefix 9
Dial Method Manual
Carrier Voyced

The campaign adds the internal access prefix.

The dialplan then removes that prefix before sending the call.

For example:

Stage Number
Destination number 442012345678
Campaign adds prefix 9442012345678
Dialplan removes prefix 442012345678
Voyced receives 442012345678

Only use this arrangement if your GOautodial installation needs the access prefix.

If your existing dialplan accepts international numbers directly, you can keep the campaign prefix empty and use the appropriate existing route.

Avoid configuring conflicting prefixes at carrier, campaign and dialplan level.

15. Configure the Campaign Caller ID

Open:

Telephony → Campaigns

Select your Voyced campaign.

Locate:

Campaign Caller ID

Enter your authorised Voyced telephone number.

Example:

Your-Voyced-DID

For example:

442012345678

Only use telephone numbers authorised for presentation through your Voyced account.

Some GOautodial installations also support separate caller ID settings at carrier level.

Make sure those settings do not conflict with your campaign caller ID.

Save the campaign.

16. Check Agent and Telephone Settings

Your agents need a working telephone connection to GOautodial.

Navigate to the agent and phone management area.

In GOautodial 4, these settings are available through the Telephony user management sections.

Check:

  • The agent account is enabled.

  • The agent has a valid telephone extension.

  • The extension is registered with GOautodial.

  • The agent can log in to the dialler.

  • The agent has permission to use the Voyced campaign.

The agent's SIP telephone registration is separate from the Voyced carrier registration.

An agent telephone registers with GOautodial.

GOautodial then uses the Voyced SIP trunk for external calls.

Do not configure the agent telephone to register directly with Voyced unless you specifically intend to use it independently of GOautodial.

17. Make a Manual Outbound Test Call

Open the GOautodial Agent Portal.

  1. Log in with an authorised agent account.

  2. Select the Voyced manual campaign.

  3. Start the agent telephone session.

  4. Open Manual Dial.

  5. Enter the external destination number.

  6. Click Dial Now.

For example, enter:

442012345678

Depending on your GOautodial agent interface, you may select the destination country or dial code separately.

Check that the combined result sent through the campaign and dialplan contains exactly one country code.

When the call connects, the agent interface should show an active call.

Answer the call at the destination.

Check two-way audio and caller ID.

After finishing, hang up the call and complete the call disposition.

18. Configure Incoming Call Handling

GOautodial supports incoming telephone numbers through DID routing.

To receive calls through Voyced, create an incoming DID.

Navigate to:

Telephony → Inbound

Open the DID or Phone Numbers section.

Select:

Create New DID

In older versions, this may appear under:

Admin → DIDs → Add a New DID

The DID Wizard will open.

19. Add Your Voyced Telephone Number

Enter:

Field Value
DID Extension Your-Voyced-DID
DID Description Voyced Reception
User Group Your authorised user group
DID Route Your required destination type

For example:

Field Value
DID Extension 442012345678
DID Description Voyced Reception
DID Route In-Group

The DID Extension must match the number presented to GOautodial in the incoming call.

The Contact extension specified in the registration string can affect the incoming dialled extension.

For the initial setup, use the full Voyced telephone number.

If the incoming SIP request presents another DID format, adjust the DID entry to match the value actually received.

Click Next.

20. Select the Incoming Destination

The DID Wizard supports several destination types.

These include:

  • In-Group

  • IVR / Call Menu

  • Phone Extension

  • Voicemail Box

  • Custom Extension

For a standard reception arrangement, select:

In-Group

Choose the group that should receive incoming calls.

For example:

Setting Value
DID 442012345678
Route In-Group
In-Group RECEPTION

The In-Group must already exist.

If you want calls to reach a single telephone, select Phone Extension and enter the correct extension.

If you want callers to hear a menu, select the relevant IVR.

Save the DID.

21. Create an Incoming Group

If your required group does not exist:

  1. Navigate to Telephony → Inbound.

  2. Open In-Groups.

  3. Select Create New In-Group.

  4. Enter the group details.

For example:

Field Value
In-Group ID RECEPTION
In-Group Name Voyced Reception
User Group Your authorised user group
Call Handling Method Your preferred distribution method
Agent Search Method Your preferred agent selection method

Configure the agents who should receive calls.

Review the available options for:

  • Available agent selection

  • Call waiting

  • Queue behaviour

  • No-agent destination

  • Out-of-hours handling

Save the In-Group.

Return to the Voyced DID and select this group as its destination.

22. Configure Additional Voyced Numbers

If several telephone numbers are delivered through one Voyced SIP account, you can configure additional incoming DIDs.

For example:

Voyced Number GOautodial Destination
Primary DID Reception In-Group
Additional DID Sales In-Group
Additional DID Support IVR

For each number:

  1. Open the DID management page.

  2. Select Create New DID.

  3. Enter the additional telephone number.

  4. Choose its destination.

  5. Save.

Each DID must match the incoming called number.

You do not need separate SIP registrations for additional numbers delivered through the same Voyced account.

If a number belongs to another SIP account with separate credentials, configure the appropriate carrier registration.

23. Configure Simultaneous Call Capacity

GOautodial can handle multiple active agents and telephone calls.

The number of simultaneous external calls must remain within your Voyced service capacity.

For example:

Setting Example
Registered Agents 5
Voyced Simultaneous Call Capacity According to your service
Campaign Dial Method Manual

Five registered agents do not automatically mean five simultaneous external calls are available.

Check the capacity included with your Voyced account.

Use GOautodial's call limits to prevent exceeding that capacity.

Keep automated dialling disabled when using Voyced.

24. Configure Firewall and NAT

Your GOautodial server must communicate with:

sip.voyced.eu

Check:

Setting Value
SIP Destination sip.voyced.eu
SIP Destination Port UDP 5060
SIP Registration Enabled
Audio Transport RTP
RTP Port Range According to your Asterisk configuration

GOautodial uses Asterisk for SIP and RTP.

Your actual RTP port range depends on its Asterisk configuration.

If your GOautodial server operates behind NAT, check its public IP address handling and RTP settings.

Your firewall must allow the traffic needed for SIP registration, calls and audio.

If SIP ALG interferes with signalling or audio, disable it.

For multi-server GOautodial installations, confirm the carrier is assigned to the correct telephony server.

Testing Your Setup

SIP Registration Test

From a self-managed GOautodial server using traditional Asterisk SIP:

asterisk -rx "sip show registry"

Expected registration state:

Registered

If the account does not register, check the SIP credentials and server settings.

Inbound Test

  1. Call your Voyced number from an external mobile telephone.

  2. Confirm GOautodial receives the call.

  3. Check the DID route.

  4. Confirm the selected In-Group or telephone receives the call.

  5. Answer the call.

  6. Check audio in both directions.

If several telephone numbers are configured, test each DID separately.

Outbound Test

  1. Log in to the GOautodial Agent Portal.

  2. Select the manual Voyced campaign.

  3. Open Manual Dial.

  4. Enter a permitted international telephone number.

  5. Place the call.

  6. Confirm the destination rings.

  7. Answer the call.

  8. Check two-way audio and caller ID.

For example, if the campaign adds prefix 9, GOautodial may initially dial:

9442012345678

The dialplan must send:

442012345678

to Voyced.

Troubleshooting

SIP Registration Fails

Check:

  • SIP server is sip.voyced.eu.

  • Authentication is set to Registration.

  • Username is correct.

  • Password is correct.

  • SIP port is 5060.

  • Protocol is SIP.

  • The carrier is active.

  • DNS resolution works.

Review the generated Registration String.

401 or 407 Error

These responses indicate that authentication is required.

An initial SIP authentication challenge is normal.

If registration repeatedly fails, check:

  • SIP username

  • Service password

  • Authentication realm

  • Registration string format

  • Subsequent authenticated REGISTER requests

403 Error

Check:

  • Account status

  • SIP credentials

  • Calling permissions

  • Caller ID authorisation

  • Whether the account has sufficient calling credit

404 Error

Check:

  • Destination number

  • Campaign dial prefix

  • Dialplan pattern

  • SIP peer name

  • Request-URI

  • Incoming DID matching

  • Which system returned the error

Outbound Number Has the Wrong Format

The final number sent to Voyced must contain the country code without a leading +.

Correct:

442012345678

If the dialplan receives:

9442012345678

and 9 is the internal access code, remove it before sending the call.

For a one-digit access prefix, the Asterisk expression is:

${EXTEN:1}

Check that the campaign and carrier have not both added extra prefixes.

Carrier Is Active but Not Registered

Active means GOautodial has enabled the carrier.

It does not mean the SIP server has accepted registration.

Use the Asterisk registration status to confirm the actual connection.

Incoming Calls Do Not Ring

Check:

  • SIP registration

  • Carrier Account Entry

  • Incoming context

  • DID Extension

  • DID Route

  • In-Group or telephone destination

  • Available agents

If the call reaches Asterisk but not the configured DID, compare the incoming dialled extension with your DID entry.

Incoming Calls Reach the Wrong Group

Check:

  • DID Route

  • In-Group selection

  • IVR destination

  • Current call time

  • No-agent destination

  • Overlapping DID entries

Confirm the DID matches the intended route.

Outbound Calls Fail

Check:

  • SIP registration

  • Campaign Carrier

  • Campaign Dial Method

  • Dial Prefix

  • Dialplan Entry

  • Agent permissions

  • Caller ID

  • Account credit

  • Simultaneous call capacity

Agent Cannot Make a Manual Call

Check:

  • The agent is logged in.

  • The telephone extension is registered.

  • The campaign is active.

  • Dial Method is Manual.

  • The agent can access the campaign.

  • The carrier is active.

  • The dialled number matches the outbound dialplan.

Agent telephone registration and carrier registration are separate.

Both must work.

Automated Calls Start Unexpectedly

Open the campaign settings.

Check:

Setting Required Configuration
Dial Method Manual
Auto Dial Level Off
Predictive Dialling Disabled

Confirm agents initiate calls individually.

Do not use auto-dialling or predictive settings with Voyced.

One-Way Audio

Check:

  • RTP connectivity

  • Firewall rules

  • NAT handling

  • Public IP address configuration

  • Audio codecs

  • SIP ALG

Successful SIP registration does not guarantee working audio.

Calls Disconnect After Approximately 30 Seconds

Check:

  • SIP ACK delivery

  • NAT handling

  • Firewall timeouts

  • SIP signalling addresses

  • Session timers

Incorrect Caller ID

Check:

  • Campaign Caller ID

  • Carrier caller ID settings

  • SIP From username

  • Authorised telephone numbers

  • Any caller ID overrides in the dialplan

Use an authorised Voyced number.

Reviewing SIP Logs

On a self-managed GOautodial server using traditional Asterisk SIP, open the Asterisk CLI:

asterisk -rvvv

Enable SIP debugging:

sip set debug on

Repeat the failing registration or call.

Look for:

  • REGISTER

  • INVITE

  • Request-URI

  • From

  • To

  • Authorization

  • SIP response code

  • SDP media information

Disable detailed debugging afterwards:

sip set debug off

Remove authentication information before sharing SIP traces with another party.

Final Tips

  • Keep the SIP server set to sip.voyced.eu.

  • Use your Voyced telephone number as the SIP username.

  • Use your Voyced service password for authentication.

  • Select Registration authentication in the Carrier Wizard.

  • Use UDP port 5060 for the SIP destination.

  • Enable G.711 A-law and G.711 μ-law.

  • Use RFC2833 for DTMF.

  • Configure manual, agent-initiated outbound calls.

  • Do not enable predictive, power or automated bulk dialling.

  • Check campaign and dialplan prefixes carefully.

  • Send full international numbers without a leading +.

  • Create a DID route for each incoming telephone number.

  • Assign each DID to the correct In-Group, extension or IVR.

  • Use an authorised outbound caller ID.

  • Check simultaneous call capacity.

  • Test SIP registration, incoming calls and outgoing calls separately.

GOautodial supports external SIP providers through its Carrier Wizard and Asterisk SIP configuration.

With the correct Voyced registration, DID routing and manual outbound campaign settings, you can use GOautodial for normal incoming calls and agent-handled business telephone conversations.
