SIP Trunk Setup for Wildix PBX
Use Voyced as an external SIP provider
This guide explains how to connect your Voyced telephone number and SIP trunk to Wildix PBX, allowing your business to make and receive telephone calls through Voyced.
Wildix supports external SIP providers using standard SIP registration with a username, password and SIP server.
This manual covers Wildix Management System (WMS) versions 6 and 7, including hardware, virtual and cloud-based Wildix PBX installations.
What You’ll Need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
-
Administrator access to your Wildix PBX
-
A working Wildix installation
-
At least one configured user and telephone
-
Permission to manage SIP trunks and dialplans
-
An active Voyced telephone number
-
Your Voyced SIP details:
-
Account / telephone number:
Your-Voyced-DID -
Service password:
YourServicePassword -
SIP server:
sip.voyced.eu
-
Requirements Before You Begin
-
Your Voyced account must be active.
-
Your account must have sufficient calling credit and simultaneous call capacity.
-
Your Wildix PBX must have a working internet connection.
-
SIP signalling uses UDP port
5060. -
Your firewall must allow the required SIP and RTP traffic.
-
Disable SIP ALG on your router or firewall.
-
Use full international telephone numbers without a leading
+when sending calls to Voyced. -
Recommended codecs:
-
PCMA / G.711 A-law
-
PCMU / G.711 μ-law
-
Wildix uses separate dialplan procedures for incoming and outgoing calls.
By default:
-
mainhandles incoming calls from SIP trunks. -
usershandles calls initiated by internal users.
We will configure both procedures to work with Voyced.
SIP Trunk Setup Steps
1. Log in to Wildix
-
Open your Wildix PBX administration interface.
-
Log in using your administrator credentials.
-
Open WMS (Wildix Management System).
-
Navigate to Trunks.
-
Locate the SIP section.
-
Click the + button to add a new SIP trunk.
The SIP trunk configuration window will open.
Wildix supports custom SIP providers, so Voyced does not need to appear in a predefined provider list.
2. Create the Voyced SIP Trunk
Enter the following details:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Title | Voyced SIP Trunk |
| Trunk Name | Voyced |
| Auth Login | Your-Voyced-DID |
| From User | Your-Voyced-DID |
| From Domain | sip.voyced.eu |
| Address or Host Name | sip.voyced.eu |
| Port | 5060 |
| Password | YourServicePassword |
Replace the placeholders with your actual Voyced service details.
The Auth Login identifies your Voyced account during SIP authentication.
The From User identifies your account in outgoing SIP messages.
The From Domain specifies the SIP domain used in registration and outgoing calls.
For the SIP server, use:
sip.voyced.eu
Keep this hostname rather than entering a numerical IP address.
Voyced uses this hostname to direct connections to the appropriate server.
3. Configure the Trunk's General Settings
Complete the remaining fields:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Dialplan | main |
| Tone Zone | Your country or region |
| Country Code | Your country's calling code |
| Keep-Alive | Enabled |
| Enable Registration | Enabled |
| Registration Proxy | Leave empty |
The Dialplan field determines which procedure handles incoming calls from the trunk.
For the initial setup, select:
main
The Tone Zone controls local telephone tones.
The Country Code helps Wildix recognise national and international number formats.
Enter the country code for your installation, without a leading +.
For example:
| Country | Country Code |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 44 |
| Netherlands | 31 |
| Germany | 49 |
| Spain | 34 |
Enable Keep-Alive to help maintain SIP connectivity.
Enable Registration so Wildix registers with Voyced using the configured credentials.
Leave Registration Proxy empty for the standard connection.
4. Configure SIP Registration
With Enable Registration selected, Wildix sends SIP REGISTER requests to Voyced.
The registration uses:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Registrar | sip.voyced.eu |
| SIP Username | Your-Voyced-DID |
| Password | YourServicePassword |
| From User | Your-Voyced-DID |
| From Domain | sip.voyced.eu |
| Port | 5060 |
| Transport | UDP |
Wildix uses the authentication details entered in the trunk's main settings.
A separate registration proxy is not required.
After registration succeeds, Wildix will periodically renew the registration.
5. Configure Advanced SIP Settings
Expand the Advanced section.
Enter:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Transport | UDP |
| DTMF Mode | RFC2833 |
| Rport | INVITE |
| Registration Expiry | 600 seconds |
| Outbound Proxy | Leave empty |
| Session Timer | Leave at default |
| Keep-Alive | Enabled |
The Transport setting determines how SIP signalling reaches Voyced.
Select UDP.
The DTMF Mode controls telephone keypad signalling.
Select RFC2833 for compatibility with IVR systems, voicemail and other telephone services.
The Rport setting helps SIP responses reach the correct network address.
Start with the default INVITE option.
Wildix normally uses a registration expiry of 600 seconds.
Keep this default unless the SIP server requests a different interval.
If Wildix shows additional advanced settings, leave them at their defaults for the initial connection.
6. Configure Audio Codecs
Still under Advanced, locate Audio Codecs.
Enable:
-
G.711 A-law / alaw
-
G.711 μ-law / ulaw
Recommended configuration:
| Codec | Setting |
|---|---|
| G.711 A-law | Enabled |
| G.711 μ-law | Enabled |
| G.729 | Disabled unless required |
| G.722 | Disabled for the trunk |
| Opus | Disabled for the trunk |
Set the packet time to:
20 ms
Wildix uses 20 milliseconds as the default audio packet duration.
The default codec preference in current Wildix versions already places A-law before μ-law.
If you need to change codec priority for a specific call, Wildix also supports codec selection through the Dialplan Set → Codec application.
For a normal Voyced trunk, the default A-law and μ-law priority is suitable.
7. Save and Verify SIP Registration
After entering the trunk settings:
-
Click Save.
-
Return to WMS → Trunks.
-
Locate
Voyced SIP Trunk. -
Check its registration status.
Wildix displays registration status using coloured indicators.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Registered |
| Grey | Not registered |
A green indicator means the SIP registration is active.
If the status remains grey, review:
-
SIP server
-
Authentication username
-
Password
-
SIP port
-
Registration settings
-
Network connectivity
You may hover over the registration indicator for additional connection information.
Successful registration confirms Wildix has authenticated with Voyced.
Incoming and outgoing call routing must still be configured.
8. Configure an Inbound Dialplan
Wildix normally uses the main dialplan procedure for incoming calls.
To configure your Voyced number:
-
Navigate to WMS → Dialplan.
-
Open the main procedure.
-
Click Add number.
-
Enter your Voyced telephone number.
Example:
Your-Voyced-DID
Replace this placeholder with your actual telephone number, including the country code.
For example:
442012345678
The called number must match the number received from Voyced.
Save the new dialplan entry.
If the main procedure already contains other incoming telephone numbers, leave those entries unchanged.
9. Route Inbound Calls to an Extension
Under the new Voyced number entry:
-
Click Add application.
-
Select Dial the phone.
-
Locate the Number setting.
-
Click Set.
-
Select Custom.
-
Enter the extension that should receive incoming calls.
Example:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Called Number | Your-Voyced-DID |
| Application | Dial the phone |
| Number | 100 |
| Timeout | 30 seconds |
This configuration routes incoming calls to extension 100.
The expected call flow is:
Voyced Telephone Number
|
v
Wildix SIP Trunk
|
v
Extension 100
Click Save.
Make sure extension 100 exists and has a working telephone assigned.
10. Configure an Inbound Call Group
If several users should receive incoming calls, create a call group.
-
Navigate to WMS → Dialplan → Call groups.
-
Click + to create a new group.
-
Enter a group name.
-
Add the required users.
-
Click Save.
Example:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Group Name | Voyced Reception |
| Members | Reception and Sales users |
| Ringing Strategy | Your preferred strategy |
Next:
-
Return to WMS → Dialplan.
-
Open the
mainprocedure. -
Select your Voyced telephone number.
-
Add the Call group application.
-
Select
Voyced Reception. -
Configure the timeout.
-
Save.
Wildix offers several call distribution strategies, including simultaneous ringing and distribution between available group members.
Choose the strategy that matches your business requirements.
If you use a call group, replace the earlier Dial the phone action or arrange the applications in the required order.
11. Configure an IVR for Incoming Calls
Wildix also supports IVR menus.
An IVR lets callers choose a destination using their telephone keypad.
For example:
-
Press 1 for Sales
-
Press 2 for Support
-
Press 3 for Reception
To use an IVR:
-
Navigate to WMS → Dialplan.
-
Open the IVR configuration section.
-
Create your IVR menu.
-
Configure the recorded message.
-
Assign the required destinations.
-
Save the IVR.
Return to the main dialplan procedure.
Select your Voyced number and add the IVR application.
Choose the IVR you created.
Save your changes.
For reliable keypad operation, keep DTMF signalling set to RFC2833 in the Voyced trunk settings.
12. Configure Outbound Calling
Wildix normally uses the users dialplan procedure for outbound calls.
To configure outbound calling through Voyced:
-
Navigate to WMS → Dialplan.
-
Open the users procedure.
-
Add a new called-number pattern.
-
Configure an application to route the call through Voyced.
For this example, users dial 9 before an international telephone number.
Enter the called-number pattern:
9X.
This pattern matches numbers beginning with 9, followed by additional digits.
Example:
9442012345678
The first 9 is the internal outgoing-call prefix.
Before sending the call to Voyced, Wildix must remove this prefix.
13. Configure the Outbound Trunk Application
Under the 9X. dialplan entry:
-
Click Add application.
-
Select Dial the trunk.
-
Under Select trunk, choose
Voyced. -
Locate Set Number.
-
Click Set.
-
Select the option to remove digits from the beginning of the called number.
-
Set the number of digits to remove to
1.
Example:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Called Number Pattern | 9X. |
| Application | Dial the trunk |
| Select Trunk | Voyced |
| Set Number | Remove first digit |
| Timeout | 60 seconds |
| Max Calls | According to your subscription |
With this configuration, the user dials:
9442012345678
Wildix removes the leading 9 and sends:
442012345678
to Voyced.
The number sent to Voyced must be in full international format without a leading +.
Click Save.
If your organisation already uses another outgoing-call prefix, adjust the example to match your existing dialplan.
Keep existing emergency and special-service routes intact.
14. Configure Outbound Caller ID
Your outgoing calls should present an authorised telephone number.
Wildix supports caller ID settings through user accounts and dialplan applications.
Option 1: Use the User's Office Number
-
Navigate to WMS → Users.
-
Open the required user.
-
Locate the Office number field.
-
Enter the authorised telephone number.
-
Save.
Example:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Office Number | Your-Voyced-DID |
Wildix uses this telephone number for outgoing caller identification where permitted by the trunk configuration.
Option 2: Set Caller ID in the Dialplan
For a shared company telephone number:
-
Open WMS → Dialplan.
-
Select the
usersprocedure. -
Open your Voyced outbound rule.
-
Add the Set application before Dial the trunk.
-
Select Caller number on trunk.
-
Enter your authorised Voyced number.
-
Save.
Example:
Your-Voyced-DID
Replace the placeholder with your actual telephone number.
Only use numbers authorised for outbound presentation on your Voyced account.
15. Assign the Outbound Dialplan to Users
The outbound dialplan must be assigned to the users making calls.
-
Navigate to WMS → Users.
-
Select the required user.
-
Locate the Dialplan field.
-
Select
users. -
Save.
Repeat for other users who should place calls through Voyced.
If your organisation already uses a custom dialplan procedure, add the Voyced outbound rule to the appropriate procedure instead.
Do not replace existing dialplan assignments without checking which services and routes they contain.
16. Configure Multiple Voyced Numbers
If you have several Voyced telephone numbers, they may share the same SIP trunk when delivered through one account.
To configure additional numbers:
-
Navigate to WMS → Dialplan.
-
Open the
mainprocedure. -
Click Add number.
-
Enter the additional Voyced DID.
-
Select the required destination.
-
Save.
Example:
| Telephone Number | Destination |
|---|---|
Your-Voyced-DID |
Reception |
| Additional Voyced Number | Sales Group |
| Additional Voyced Number | Support IVR |
Use the complete international number for every DID.
If additional numbers have separate SIP usernames and passwords, create separate SIP trunks as required.
17. Configure Firewall and NAT
Your Wildix PBX must communicate with:
sip.voyced.eu
Recommended network settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| SIP Server | sip.voyced.eu |
| SIP Port | UDP 5060 |
| SIP Registration | Enabled |
| SIP ALG | Disabled |
| RTP Ports | According to your Wildix configuration |
Wildix uses different RTP ranges depending on the installation type.
Typical ranges are:
| Wildix Installation | RTP Ports |
|---|---|
| Hardware PBX | UDP 10000–15000 |
| Virtual PBX | UDP 10000–15000 |
| Wildix Cloud PBX | UDP 10000–59999 |
These are typical ranges. Your installed configuration determines the actual ports.
For hardware and virtual installations, check:
WMS → Settings → PBX → SIP-RTP
Confirm the configured RTP start and end ports.
If your PBX is behind NAT, ensure the correct external IP address is configured.
Where available, use the automatic external IP detection feature.
Make sure your firewall permits the required SIP and RTP traffic.
