Mitel IP PBX

This guide applies to Mitel MiVoice Business (formerly Mitel 3300 ICP), which is the most widely deployed and SIP-compatible Mitel platform. Mitel’s lower-end Office systems may not support third-party SIP trunks without licensing or restrictions.


SIP Trunk Setup for Voyced – Mitel MiVoice Business

This guide shows how to connect Voyced to Mitel MiVoice Business using a standard SIP trunk. It supports both inbound and outbound calling.


What You’ll Need

Before you begin:

  • Access to Mitel System Administration Tool (Web or Console)

  • A working Class of Service (COS) and at least one extension

  • Your Voyced SIP trunk credentials:

SIP Username Your-Voyced-DID
SIP Password YourServicePassword
SIP Server sip.voyced.eu
SIP Port 5060
Transport Protocol UDP
Codecs alaw, ulaw, g729

Firewall requirements:

  • Open UDP 5060 for SIP

  • Open UDP 10000–20000 for RTP


Step-by-Step Configuration

 

Step 1: Create a SIP Peer Profile

  • Go to System > SIP > SIP Peer Profile

  • Click Add

General Settings:

Field Value
SIP Peer Profile Name Voyced
SIP Transport Type UDP
Remote Trunk Type Network
Address Type IP Address
Peer Address sip.voyced.eu
Port 5060
Outbound Proxy Leave blank

Click Save

 

Step 2: Assign SIP Authentication

Still in the SIP Peer Profile:

  • Go to SIP Authentication

  • Set:

User Name Your-Voyced-DID
Password YourServicePassword
Confirm Password YourServicePassword

Click Save

 

Step 3: Create a Trunk Group

  • Go to Trunks > Trunk Group

  • Click Add

Settings:

Field Value
Trunk Group Number Choose a free ID (e.g. 17)
Trunk Type SIP
Trunk Service Type Tie Line
Trunk Service Number Any (e.g. 9017)

Click Save

 

Step 4: Assign Trunks to Trunk Group

  • Go to Trunks > Trunk

  • Click Add

Fill in:

Field Value
Trunk Group Assignment 17 (or your ID)
Associated Peer Profile Voyced
Number of Trunks Based on your plan

Click Save

 

Step 5: Program Call Routing

For Outbound:

  • Go to ARS (Automatic Route Selection)

  • Add or modify a route to use the Trunk Group for Voyced

  • Example:

    • Route Name: VOYCED

    • Route Number: 10

    • Trunk Group: 17

Assign dial patterns to use this route (e.g. 0N, 9N, etc.)

 

For Inbound:

  • Go to Call Routing > Incoming Call Handling

  • Assign DID (e.g. Your-Voyced-DID) to ring an extension or hunt group

 

Step 6: Test & Debug

  • Call your Voyced DID from an external number

  • Make an outbound call from your extension using the correct prefix

Use Mitel Maintenance Logs > SIP Messages to monitor SIP registration and call setup.
