What are Allocation and Activation time?

There are 2 steps involved in getting you a DID / telephone number which are Allocation and Activation.
With many numbers, you will not notice a difference but especially with DIDs / telephone numbers where more paperwork is involved you very well may come across this.

The basis of all this is as follows:

Step 1) DID / Telephone number Allocation
We Allocate the number as soon as we can after the order has been completed.
This is generally something that we can do without interacting with any external parties so this can be done (almost) instantly.

Step 2) DID / Telephone number Activation

There are really 2 options here which are:

a) There are no or basic requirements for the DID / telephone number that you ordered and we can finish that process without having to go to the local regulator for it.
This will mean that we can finish the whole process (almost) in one go and the number Allocation and Activation will be done in one go.
As soon as we confirm the DID / telephone number, it is fully functional and implemented.

You can start making a call immediately and generally you can receive calls straight away as well.
Sometimes it takes an hour or so for the outside world to pick up the notification of this new number, but most of the time that will be done by the time you have installed your systems.

b) There is a stricter requirement with regards to being able to apply for and use a DID / telephone number.
In this case, you will have to send us the appropriate paperwork within 3 days and certainly within a maximum of 7 days.
If we do not receive all and correct paperwork by day 8, the setup of the order may be cancelled by the local operator and a new setup will be needed in that case.

As soon as we received the relevant paperwork from you, we will check this and let you know if there (may be / is a problem with it.
When the paperwork is as needed, we will forward this application to the local regulator that will have to give their approval.
As soon as we get their approval, we can activate the DID / telephone number and we will notify you of that.and the DID / telephone number, it is fully functional and implemented.
At that point, we can release the DID to you and the DID / telephone number is fully functional and implemented.

You can start making a call immediately and generally you can receive calls straight away as well.
Sometimes it takes an hour or so for the outside world to pick up the notification of this new number, but most of the time that will be done by the time you have installed your systems.
Most local regulators act and react very quickly to our applications, so this stage shouldn't take too long either.
